What really happened at Pearl Harbour?
Most probably just as we have been told.

The fascinating psychology of people who know the real truth about JFK, UFOs, and 9/11.

Conspiracy believers are the ultimate motivated skeptics. Their curse is that they apply this selective scrutiny not to the left or right, but to the mainstream. They tell themselves that they’re the ones who see the lies, and the rest of us are sheep. But believing that everybody’s lying is just another kind of gullibility.

As I have said before, really, it's a wonder some people are able to get out of bed of a morning with all these conspiracies, past. present and future running our lives.

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." Jospeh Goebbels, Nuf said. Tell the people the Truth and they wont believe it. (I did not say that)

There are many reasons people believe in one of the many nonsensical conspiracies doing the rounds now.
I blame a combination of paranoia, anti establishment bias, and gullibility.

Dinosaur fart? That sounds very unlikely. So, being sceptical myself, I must ask, do you have a reference for that claim?

"Dinosaurs may be partly to blame for a change in climate because they created so much flatulence,(Yep)! according to leading scientists."

Professor Graeme Ruxton of St Andrews University, Scotland, said the giant animals spent 150 years emitting the potent global warming gas, methane. Giant dinosaurs could have warmed the planet with their flatulence, say researchers. British scientists have calculated the methane output of sauropods, including the species known as Brontosaurus. By scaling up the digestive wind of horses, they estimate that the total population of dinosaurs, produced 520 million tonnes of gas annually. They suggest the gas could have been a key factor in the warm climate 150 million years ago. David Wilkinson from Liverpool John Moore's University, and colleagues from the University of London and the University of Glasgow published their results in the journal Current Biology.

This Big Lie came in so first I was just dumbfound. Read for yourself. Its not even an hour old, and its from "expert scientist"

Area 51 scientist's deathbed video: UFOs are real, aliens have federal jobs

"In one of the most extraordinary and strange deathbed confessions ever, an Area 51 scientist and career government worker recently left behind a video revealing supposed federal secrets that are nothing short of a conspiracy theorist's dream come true. The Inquistr reported Oct. 28 that Boyd Bushman, a highly accredited aerospace scientist and the holder of numerous innovative patents, decided to come clean in his last hours and record what he knew about the U. S. government's dealings with aliens and its secret UFO program. Perhaps most astonishing of all, though, was his revelation that not only were UFOs real, but that 18 extraterrestrials were currently working for the U. S. government.

Boyd Bushman, whose career saw the man holding positions with Lockheed-Martin, Hughes Aircraft and other aerospace firms, died on August 7. But prior to his passing, he gave an interview that has caught the attention of many in the UFO community. His words affirm much of what many have come to believe -- that UFOs are real, that the government has had dealings with aliens for decades, and that there has been a concerted effort to keep the information secret from the general populace over the same period.

Bushman says in the video that he was responsible at Area 51 for "reverse engineering" alien technology for use in the U. S. military. Among his revelations was that the alien craft was indeed saucer-shaped -- it was an actual "flying saucer" -- and 38 feet across.

But far more shocking -- some might say more disturbing -- was Bushman's claims that aliens that had traveled to Earth were out and about, working for the federal government. The scientist said there were 18 extraterrestrials working for the government. Some of them were at least 250 years old.

Boyd Bushman isn't the first former government employee with inside knowledge of secret facilities like Area 51 who has been willing to share their experiences. However, he may be the most credible. His position as an aerospace engineer and his having opened up just before his death in what amounts to a deathbed confession (an act seen as having legal weight) lends extra merit to his words.

Bushman also produced several photos of what he claimed were aliens working at Area 51, some of which he says died while working at the top secret government facility. The Nevada facility has been operational since 1955 and has been the focus of speculation ever since. Being an experimental testing ground cloaked the base not on in secrecy but also added the atmosphere that gave rise to the idea of cover-ups and sinister goings-on.

It is a story worthy of "The X-Files." Still, is there any validity to the claims of the late Boyd Bushman? Is Area 51 exactly what conspiracy theorists and UFO true believers have claimed it to be over the years -- a hiding place for UFOs and extraterrestrials?

Although Bushman's claims may be difficult to verify, one thing is certain: His video testament has become something of note. Since it was posted on Oct. 8, the interview video has garnered over 2.6 million views to date.

why cause I'm right? please refrain from the implied attacks on my intelligence. contrary to your misguided asseraton I'm usually on the more rational side.

Yamamoto studied in the states and had a good feel for the american people. reports state than when he found out the the attack happened before the official deceleration of war that he was very depressed. because he knew the american people would demand vengence. more than anything that screw up there is the biggest failure on of the attack.

You have no provided evidence of a "lie" here, just something you personally do not believe.

By the way, I declare BINGO! for your first use - to my knowledge - of the giveaway crank term "sheeple", though you have spelled it a bit differently. I have never encountered anyone who uses this terms who is not one.

So, you believe flatulence cause their extinction? That's an original!

No,all we can conclude from the dialogue is first that you apparently disbelieve it and second, that you have trouble reasoning.

But as to my own view on the matter, I'd be prepared to read more about the idea if someone reputable is behind it. Methane is a very potent greenhouse gas, it must be admitted. But I'm not yet in a position to decide what level of credence to give this hypothesis.

And if I were to accept it , it would not be original, since it has already been put forward by someone else. Obviously.

PJ, there is a certain point at which an implication becomes an appeal to humour. I didn't think I really left much room for doubt, in this case.

Secondly, the term "rational" usually carries with it the implication that one might see things as the other does, or be deemed irrational.
It's an entirely subjective term, and therefore essentially and argumentatively useless in the form it is most commonly used.
And yes.... even my use of the word "commonly" was entirely deliberate.
    Feel free to bluster, now.

Which still doesn't even remotely address the options Japan had at the time.

The question: "Did Japan have other options"?
PJ : "Yamamoto didn't like the idea".

... I'm hoping there are at least some who understand where I'm coming from, even if you don't.

My impression (without actually reading his mind) is that Yamamoto thought the attack was a bad option but it was the only viable option. Decline/collapse of the Empire and its economy, or war? War now or war later?

i get where you coming from I just don't think matters. yes japan had other options. but unless any of them were concretely better it really doesn't matter. japan struggled for oil in WW2 to operate its war machine. I can't see an option they had that would have allowed them to resolve that issue. not to mention the fact just how strained its supply lines would have been no matter what. Japan in being part of the axis powers really only had bad options.

I stand corrected, a whopping 1% of Americans wanted to enter WW2 before Japan attacked them. Meanwhile, all-American patriot hero Henry Ford was busy selling tanks, jeeps and half-tracks to Hitler as a follow-up on all those million-dollar birthday checks he mailed out earlier.

    Was he really?
My, my. Terrible man, making a profit out of a war you intimate no one cared about enough to get involved in. Other than that... 1%, of course.

I'd surmise you're that guy in the bar who sees a woman being treated badly and stays out of it because it isn't any of your business.
But you'll have a few things to say to the guy who films it hoping to make a profit on the internet.

Well the 1% was a figurative reference to those Americans who wanted to give their lives and the lives of their countrymen in the defense of democracy, might be much higher if you include those who liked what the Nazis were doing. Hitler had a lot of fans in the US until his allies lit a fire under their butts.

If I thought it was something serious enough that I could legally get involved, I'd go to the guy filming it and insist that he hand his tape over to the police. Are you mad that I wouldn't handle it the John Wayne plastic bullets way?

No he was not. This is a ludicrous fabrication. Even if Ford had been inclined the sell arms to Germany either the US government would have prevented it, or the British blockade would have.

U.S Government prevent it you say? But they knew about it!! You people. wake up. Governments occasionally allow crises, and catastrophes on its own people to railroad an idea they people would not have agreed to, were it not for these "false flag" operations. What appears ridiculous is the truth. And that the way they like it. The more outrageous an act, the more people find it easy to dismiss.
