You are so CORRECT...but we have imbeciles that jump in... who do not want Knowledge....hence anything advanced...I do not provide here...

So, lack of the Knowledge is what you will have for a long time like 200 years....hence forget this groups of members...

I was trying to tell, why...but that would not make any difference to these imbeciles...therefore 200 years is the plan now. I was trying to provide a 200 year future Knowledge NOW, but even for a moderator this place is very hostile...hence I put out a little at a time....thanks...

My present post is to provide some data to Walter L. Wagner ...(on Black holes on Earth etc.) but that did not happen...

I havn't taken much notice of this thread so, not really sure who these imbeciles are and why you call them such.....

My stance remains as it always has been. I'm quite optimistic with regards to science and our future.
I firmly see it as logical, that given time, our species could achieve all that is allowed by the laws of physics and GR.
That possibly may require new physics. Yes, in all probability, it will be a long time before we would be able to achieve warp velocities and capabilities.

At the same time, I abhore YEC's and God Botherers, along with individuals that would have us believe they can rewrite 21st century cosmology, the conspiracy brigade, elves, gnomes, fairies and even Leprachauns!.
I see science not as a God, as some short-sighted person said the other day, but as a continuing path to more and more knowledge and achievements.
Science has shown us the way. It has pushed back the need for mythical beings, and explained the Universe around quite simply from an evolution of space and time, to energy and matter, and to what we observe today.
It's not absolute nor is it infallible, but it does thrive on logic and common sense, and will I believe continue to do so. It's also human, well at least the humans that practice it are, and the ones that are leading the way, are at the coal face of these continued new discoveries.

I also logically see any visitation from an Alien species would not result in aggression. On that score, I vehemently disagree with Stephen Hawking.
Firstly no advanced species would really "want" for anything, and secondly, I see the same logic surface with regards to the futility in fighting and war.
I believe we could even be on Mars at this time, if not for the two terrible variables of politics and economics.
Taking all that in, our Earthly problems will in time, I believe be solved.
    Two points to ponder.....
Where would we be without the first rather simple applicable hardware from our space endeavours so far?
The simple Satellite is now seen as indispensable.
And how much better off would we be, if overnight all religious propaganda and myths simply just vanished?
And to facilitate that last point, start science/cosmology lessons from the day we are able to walk!
It may help rid people's minds of the web of deceit that religions are weaving...well most of them anyway!

Hopfuly you'r corect about the agression thang... an i can agree that a sufficiently advanced species may not "want" for anythang sinse all thangs may be posible to them... but logicaly... any such assumptions about advanced species is nuthin more than gross speculation.!!!

Have you considered that it may be because they are advanced they may be in need of quite a number of resources, perhaps even slaves. (Just more gross speculation!)

Unless they're anything like Peter F. Hamilton's Primes.
Rabidly xenophobic and ready to kill anything that takes up space/ uses resources that their own species may require sometime in the future, however far down the line.
There's only room for ONE species in this universe!

Here is what I was trying to say that is a valid point even though present technology has not provided with that surety.
About 100,000 years ago, There was a Rama Civilization on Earth. The Knowledge came from the Rebirth of people now but technical details can come from actual digging in Antarctica when the ice melts. Assuming there was a Rama Civilization, this is what actually happened.

There was a race of Red skin people that are extraterrestrials that came in to slave humanity. There was a big fight and they left to come back again in 12,350 years ago. That part was the Norse Mythology of War and Peace and document signed to not have war again.

Assuming at this time, it is the fact, the main cause need to be found out. It is necessary for Mankind’s survival.
These Red groups were heavy in Science but lacked the Spiritual Uplifting like Buddha discussed and I think Jesus discussed. So, they were trying to find Planets that they can overtake without the understanding of the Life forms on this Universe and Dimensions that are exist with Life Forms too.

And we are now doing the same things to keep the other related dimensions out of our life causing us behave the same Red people and go out and start wars in the Cosmos until we get beat down like them.
That was my problem. Hence I posted in Sciforums…If no one cares…then we are heading to an abyss….that is all.

To learn more about Spirit world, like Buddha did, we need to understand what is out there in our related Dimensions and our people after you pass away….That is Knowledge and no one wants to jump in. And those two High Level Dimensions will not let us go in an area that is damaging to Half of our Hemisphere….and kill a large chuck of people, due to Climate Change (that can be prevented).

It is a take it or leave it structure and if you leave it, Climate Change will fix this in 200 years.

Your and sciforum's choice….Please do not beat up the messenger.

    It's unsupported drivel.

You mean "I should be allowed to post unscientific nonsense but don't take me to task about it"?
Or is it "I have extreme trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality"?

It is given that soon you will die...that is supported drivel....when that happens, go to the other dimension and talk to me...it will take about 6 months to get in to the unsupported drivel there and then talk to me...I will explain everything...actually you will know what is unsupported for our future...very easy...

Until then...stay as one of those Flat Earthers...no problem...

What if you are in Fantasy such that the Western Economy is going down and down....the USA is using 99% of all Hydrocodones on the planet...if that is not Fantasy....

So, what you're saying is: you still don't have any evidence.
You just like making hand-wavy claims.
    (And inappropriate analogies).

So, what you are saying is you could not read the post and did not want to participate in a constructive way like all those Economists on USA (and Europe) do...to develop USA...that is amazing...

Evidence? When you die, you will see the evidence...for sure...because it is a Dimensional Issue and you do not have the Technology yet and a lot of people will die...in the process...

I see your comprehension difficulties extend further than I had previously realised.
Was there any evidence in your post?
    No.
Were there claims - vague and unsupported?
    Yes.
Did you make an inappropriate analogy?
Yes. (E.g. there's scientific evidence for a non-flat Earth, there's none for your claims. Ergo calling me a flat Earther is hardly an apt comparison).

But that's okay, you carry on hand-waving rather than provide solid evidence.
It's easier for you that way.

    Yup.
    More entirely unsupported claims.
(And you don't seem to to know what "dimension" means, either).

So, let the people die due to climate change because I do not have your support on various ideas...that is nice.

By the way the OP about going to stars and that would not happen...support or un-support...No Way...

    Three things…

    1. I do not have the Technology for evidence at this Time, and hence when your physical form dies…you will see them. I am sure it is supported that you will die.

    2. Du to serious Climate Change (because we could not provide Evidence in time) a lot of people will die. And people like us can provide the support but we do not have any evidence to make it so.

    3. Due to logical configurations…we will not be going to the Stars any time soon until we have the Evidence as to our life patterns across the Universe, which will not happen anytime soon or unless Eastern Hemisphere takes over the Western Hemisphere. (I have been asked not to provide support for Western hemisphere so that the Eastern win for the Stars...)

    Ridiculous assertion.
You have zero evidence that your claims are in any way valid in solving global warming.

    Another unsupported claim.

    Yeah.
    1) You have yet to show that A) there is anything for there to be evidence of and B) that "technology" would do that.
    2) Another empty claim that "I'll see it when I de".
    3) And "I'm sure" is nothing more than yet another unsupported opinion.

People like us? Who's "us"? Woo woos?

    More completely unsupported drivel.

    Also unsupported.

    Yeah?
    By whom?
    The late Arthur C. Clarke?
Did you get his autograph in invisible ink?

Essentially, given that all you've done thus far is make claims, fail to support them and simply repeat or expand on them, you're preaching.
Is this still against forum rules?
Or are you exempt from that rule (or consider yourself to be so)?

If you persist then you'll be reported.
Members are expected - and encouraged (to the point of "admonishment" when they don't) - to support their claims. I fail to see why you should be any different.
Especially given the sheer unbelievability of your claims.

Paddoboy, old bean. I'm afraid this is your Star Trek fandom at work again. I'm going to throw you a bone here, and say, yes, let's suppose we can achieve and travel at light speed and even (LOL) warp ten a few centuries hence, even if that came to pass it doesn't means all this other Kirky-Spocky nonsense like replicators and a money-less economy, and united federations of planets with over-produced special effects make-up will come to pass. Those are all whole other kettles of fish, aren't they? Yes, I think you realize that they are.

But I want to tell you about an ancient science fiction story I read that will serve as an object lesson. I only read it a few years ago but it was written maybe in the 1940s. I regret that I can't recall the title or author. However, what it was about was an advanced civilization that had been observing Earth and figured that perhaps they were ready to join 'the greater world' (typical mid-20th -century hubris about how advanced they thought they were). So as a test they send a replicator down to earth. An alien 'disguised' as a human goes to a department store, asks to see the manager and shows him the replicator, and how to use it. It looks like a scale. It's a box with a single button, and two metal platforms on springs on top (or something like that, I don't recall all the details). The alien shows the manager that you can put any object on the one platform, press the button, and viola - now you have another on the second platform. Naturally, the manager is astonished, and wants to know the price. He's astonished again to learn there will be no charge. Exit the alien. You can easily guess what happens next. The manager is reproducing all the goods in the store and having blow-out sales. He soon has the replicator reverse engineered and from the one model can make many more. The store sells these at first, but quickly realizes their mistake. However, it's too late. Everyone is replicating everything, and in no time all the factories close down, no one has a job, the economy is at a standstill, never mind that every man is Croesus. What's the point of having a gold-plated Rolls Royce when everyone has five of them? They soon produced replicators that could deal with truck trailers filled with platinum, if they so desired them. In short, to use today's slang, the replicator goes viral.

So back up at the Earth observation post, one advanced civilization alien says to another, "You see, I told you they weren't ready."

I've used this Bill Cosby quotation before, but oh! it so apt: "And that, my friend, is human nature!"

Watch out Monsieur Dywyddyr. KM is a founding moderator and there's rumors his great uncle Fredericko owns this website! :m::shrug:

    Utterly irrelevant.
Either there are rules against preaching and not providing evidence or there aren't.
(If there aren't then some bans should be overturned).
If there are then either mods are also subject to them or not.
(If they are then why doesn't KM abide by them?)
If not then what's the point of having a science forum where selected people can get away with spouting inane unsupported drivel?

What's the "worst" that can happen?
I get banned for pointing out hypocrisy?

    It was a musical instrument?

LOL. My mistake. Either I forgot to turn on the French spellchecker or the only thing the replicator could actually replicate was a stringed instrument larger than a violin, but smaller than a cello.

    Monsieur Dywyddyr

My posting is an experiment to see how member of a group manage CHANGE over Time....just like Arne Saknussemm posting....

...if anyone got it...that is great...if not that is too....

The solution to these issues are from a great Shaman: Lay out the stones...over time they work...

    Calm down....
