As long as "kits" or "packages" are each considered one item:

[1] 1 shipping container filled with huge bags of a variety of seeds.
[2] 1 shipping container filled with medical items in bulk (instruments, meds..... staples like gauze, needles etc)
[3] 1 shipping container filled with variety of dried good (includes things like yeast)
[4] large case of disposable plastic lighters
[5] 1 shipping container filled with bags of cement
[6] 1 shipping container filled with live chickens
[7] 1 shipping container filled with copper wire
[8] a tank containing 9000 gallons of fresh water
[9] 1 shipping container filled with construction tools
[10] 1 library - which is probably just yet another shipping container filled with books

For the 10 things i would bring to an island, the only thing to bring would be a good machete, and a good
survival book for the place in question. The rest would be easy if you're a bit savy or survivelist!

The first five of them would be women with different skill-sets
    farmer
    gardener
    doctor/herbalist(with tool kit)
    engineer
    carpenter
bag of mixed seeds(chosen by the first 3)
solar array with batteries and inverter
    my tool kit
    cage of rabbits(with male included)
    flock of chickens(with rooster included)

    .........................
    one wonders
Why was the island "deserted" in the first place?

Hm... banished forever huh? Assuming there is no restriction to what we can take, beyond the obvious/practical (have to be able to transport it, etc):

    1) My bug-out bag (duffle bag that has the essentials in it, such as a box of waterproof matches, survival blankets, water purifiers, hatchet, multi-tool, first aid kit, etc)
    2) My wife, my little brother and his girlfriend, and three other friends and their significant others; one is in the US Coast Guard, one is a former US Marine, and the other is a techno-nerd like myself. This would give us basic survival skills, strength for construction tasks, some basic medical knowledge, and the ability to hopefully adapt and overcome

Plus, having additional human contact is vital to any sort of long-term settlement.
    3) A good sized solar array: 36 L-16REB Deep Cycle batteries wired in series parallel - 6V, 390 AH each gives us 2340 AH @ 36V (roughly 28KWh at 12V draw), tied to a 35x55 foot KD320GX-LFB 320W array, plus the required transformers and inverters. This should provide a steady 23kw at maximum output, so assuming 80% of that under realistic conditions say 18kw per hour with an 8 hour charging cycle, gives us 144 kw per day. Average US household use is roughly 33 kwh per day, so that gives us plenty of power to use and to recharge the batteries. Realistically, if this is some kind of tropical or sub-tropical island, charging time would likely be closer to 10-12 hours, so that gives us 216 kw per day. (yes, this would all be incredibly expensive... but you never said price was an issue!)
    4) Construction tools (hammers, chisels, table saw or two, miter saw, etc)
    5) Some basic appliances (high efficiency oven/stove, etc)

Not sure yet on 6-10... will get back to that

EDIT - number 6 - a few high-efficiency air conditioners... this servers two purposes:
    1) Cooling
    2) Water production

After all, the water it condenses out of the air would be clean

The Hunter would kill the Gardner. The Engineer would kill the Scientist. And they'd all end up crucifying the Weatherman on the stormiest of days. lol!

Various simulations of this with Tropico 5 usually results in a smog ridden island, over populated by immigrants and constantly under attack by foreign powers fearing the alleged nuclear arsenal cache.
