    Too much controversy has rised out of it.

    What happens after I put every element in an iron box?

    you already know it's not possible,
    some elements can not react with each other while others react ,
    acids will be created, chemical bonds and such, probably be a bomb half way through.
    not to mention radioactive elements and isotopes.

    not only that, but do you understand why elements are place on the table in their locations ?

    The more reactive ones will be transformed into compounds, obviously. But it would be a tedious and pointless exercise trying to determine exactly which ones would combine with which others.

    Is there is point to your question?

    Presumably entropy will occur, which will cause the elements and the box to tend towards an equilibrium. The natural equilibrium shape eventually being a large, density ordered sphere, where the core of the sphere is the most dense and the outer edge of the sphere is the least dense. Entropy must occur! Time must elapse! Distance is inevitable!!

    That is the wisest thing I have heard in a long time!

    These other folks believe compounds would occur with the halogen set in the mix.

    oxygen would react with lithium or sodium and ignite,
    increasing temperature in the iron(Fe)box.
    powdered graphite carbon would ignite also.
    there are also,radioactive elements " flaming plutonium "
    then it will calm down and form salts,rust and such

    Holy crap! He does more than spew insults! Unfortunately I have heard this before!

    That one goes down as an "alternative Hypothisis"!

    How much rust or salt can form from one mole of oxygen and one mole of sodium. Not enough to calm down a reaction of this caliber.

    What happens after you put every ingredient in a mixing bowl and put it in the oven? Depending on amounts and timings you might get bread or enchiladas or fish sticks or Jell-O.

    Put an ice cube in a glass of water. What happens? Entropy! The ice cube gets warmer and the water gets colder. When all is said and done, the water and ice cube are 1, at 1 temperature, not two different temps as were in the beginning before you put the ice into the water. Do you not understand what coming to an equilibrium means?

    Nope. The system had entropy before the event and it has entropy after the event. There is a change in entropy.

    Entropy doesn't "occur" any more than the sun occurs. It is.

    Entropy is a measure of the distribution of energy within a system. Change in entropy is an event, entropy itself is not.

    Distribution of energy?? Can you explain in detail what you mean by distribution of energy?

    In your example, energy (heat) moves from the water to the ice cube. At the moment the ice cube enters the water, the energy of the system is densest in the water. As the ice cube melts, the energy density equalizes between the water and the ice - i.e. the system equilibrates. Entropy is the measure of how "spread out" the energy is. When the system reaches equilibrium (steady temperature), the entropy is at a maximum.

    So you think the sun doesn't exist at night? Every morning a change in the position of the sun, relative to the earth, occurs. The change occurs, not the sun.
