Wait, right there, paddoboy - I have NOT, I am NOT and will NOT "try" to "invalidate" the "claim(s) of GR" !

That, right there, paddoboy, is the "twisting" that I asked you about in my Post #16, above!

    More "twisting" paddoboy?

Where did you come up with "conspiracy"!!!???

BTW, you use the word "conspiracy", and you used the word "hypocrisy" earlier - forget the "spelling" - I am not really sure you fully understand the proper definition of those words any more than you understand the difference in meaning between the words "then" and "than"!

And, paddoboy, I am sure that I do NOT even have to mention the word "Tolerance"!

    Meh!!!..."conspiracy"...Meh!!

    Goodbye, paddoboy.

    No, no twisting. Just fact.
[1] The article speculates about wormholes and time travel.
[2] I speculate about wormholes and time travel.
[3] Both are allowed for by GR and often discussed in scientific circles.
[4] This is the proper forum section to discuss the matter.
[5] Inappropriate, alternative theories and pseudoscience subject matter in the past, have been moved: This isn't one of them.

I'll see what more I can dig up about wormholes and time travel.

By making use the Casimir effect, we are making use of ZPE and possibly the CC also.
Now if we could somehow broach DE, if in fact that is a different aspect force of space/time, the possibilities would be endless.
We would literally be a class3 civilisation on the Kardashev scale.

In reply to paddoboy...thanks! By the way...what are "the effects we see" with regard to BH theory? I can't find that either!? Do you know of a quick link?

    Thanks.

    You can't find anything???
BH's being what they are, incredibly dense objects, whose escape velocity exceeds "c" there effects on space/time and matter around them, is how they are detected.
Matter is drawn into a BH, spiralling inwards, with increasing speed and increases in temperatures, emitting prodigious amounts of X-rays and then disappearing into oblivion...there effects on the orbital speeds of stars nearby are another give a way.
These effects are so pronounced that no other explanations are possible according to the known laws of gravity.
The first object that was shown to be a probable BH was Cygnus X-1.

I'm sure you can find a reference somewhere if you are that way inclined.

Their existence isn't predicted by GR either.

......Differences being though that GR is a theory about space/time, and how neither can be treated as absolute, and can be warped, curved, twisted, dilated etc.
It therefor seems quite logical to accept that worm holes and time travel are a distinct possibility as has been evidenced with BH's, which also at one time, was thought to be highly intuitive and Impossible.
In fact time travel of sorts is actually quite evident and is associated with worm holes.

Fairies and Goblins though, well I'm quite unaware of their connection with space, time, space/time, gravity.
In fact there is no connection at all.
It's just an exercise in futility and dreaming in casting derision on a well accepted model like GR and its logical predictions.

And I'm pretty sure Trippy did not mean that in the manner that it came out.

In a sense, that's kind of the point I was making - GR does not preclude the existence of fairies because GR is silent on the existence of fairies. GR is not silent on the existence of wormholes - it predicts their existence as solutions to the Einstein Field Equations.

Just clarifying the issue, as so many seem to get even obvious interpretations wrong.

    Interesting article from....
    http://tokyo3.org/forums/holiday/?side=http://tokyo3.org/forums/holiday/topics/

Scientists Think A Wormhole May Be In The Centre Of Our Galaxy:

If Zilong Li and Cosimo Bambi of the Fudan University in Shanghai are correct, what we thought was a massive black hole in the centre of our galaxy could be a wormhole that would allow instantaneous travel between two points in space and time. In fact, it may be the gateway to a different universe.

They even go beyond that — their paper says that every supermassive black hole candidate in other galaxies can actually be wormholes created in the early universe.

    From the article.....

If confirmed — and that’s a big IF for now — does this mean that we will be able of instantaneous intergalactic travel by going to the center of our galaxy? We can’t say now. What we know is what is possible under Einstein’s general relativity. The theoretical work says that

    1) Wormholes can exist.

    2) Wormholes would allow matter to travel faster than light (FTL) because, while objects passing through a wormhole would still move at sub-light speeds locally (therefore obeying Einstein’s first commandment: Thou shall not travel faster than light!) they will go from one point of the universe to the other much faster than a beam of light travelling outside the wormhole, through regular space.

    3) Wormholes would allow to travel in time. This is way too complex to explain here, but you can make your head explode at any time by reading this.

    4) Wormholes may connect different universes, which ties with the idea of many parallel universes derived from quantum mechanics. This avoids any time paradox because, according to some recent theories, “a particle returning form the future [through a wormhole] does not return to its universe of origin but to a parallel universe.” I know, Marty, my mind is collapsing into a tiny black hole right now

This all means that we really don’t have a clue about what may be happening yet when going through a wormhole. We just have a lot of equations that seem to work and, according to Zilong Li and Cosimo Bambi, the possibility of testing the existence of wormholes in the very near future using a new scientific instrument.

And that, my friends, is very exciting on its own, no matter what the final result is.

I think the only place we will find wormholes are in Black Holes(at least that is the only place I think they might really exist). These guys might be on the same track, but if it is inside the horizon we may never know. I also think these wormholes do connect to the past, but only at one point, the Big Bang(the only White Hole type object we know of). Maybe that is a Big Bang in another Universe, maybe in our own. Either way, you would not survive the trip. I think that type of time travel to the past is probably the only kind possible in this Universe, it avoids all possibility for paradox. Oh, and if your train station is 50,000 light years away, you might want to look for another way of travelling.

    But keep thinking.
