Wow Scheherazade, I was going to do telmatology and add just such a picture, but it didn't feel like my turn. Well done. You too Enmos. Nice rant.

So next is...underwater knitting - no wait! Did that already. How about...... UROLGY!

No, I'm just taking the piss (pun intended)

Here then is Urenology: the study of rust molds:

Correct me if I am wrong please, but I don't think there is a W scientific pursuit. So let's take a moment to honor a little fellah that has been toiling in the field of botany literally for millions of years:

We may consider this post both X and Y as I do not believe there is an opportunity for Y. Others may prove me wrong.

Well, I wasn't trying for the 'Z' so I could choose the next topic, but I've met Scheherzade's challenge, so here goes nothin'!

So I choose the arcane as the next topic: a science or whatever, it just has to be a very unusual word, like 'apanthropinization', for instance. Don't ask me what it means. Look it up yourself as it is not the official 'A' word for the next round. It just happens to start with an A by chance. I am not obliged to explain it or picture it. Sorry.

    Let's proceed!

That's fine squirrel. I don't think anyone really wants to see a picture of a mutant strain of microorganism that will proliferate only when the medium is supplemented with some specific substance not required by wild-type organisms, or even one which a specific substance not required by wild-type organisms is not supplemented.

defenestration - 1. The act of throwing something, or someone, out of a window.
    2. High profile removal of a person from an organization.

It is inevitable that when corporations merge, there will be sure and swift defenestration.
