Well, I'm most certainly not a lesbian and Bells is definitely not stupid. You, on the other hand, appear to be ignorant and very insecure in your own manliness.

Does this song describe the kind of family you are talking about?

    ====================
Dancing in our rooms, you knew all the moves
Thinkin of Mom in saddle shoes, it was amazing
    Laughing family, long Monopoly
Sunday night TV, Adam and Hop Sing

We were as blessed as blessed can be
You and Mom and Dad and me
    Singin' in 4 part harmony
I love to tell the story

Me and my guitar, softball in the yard
Breezeway playin' cards with half of the neighborhood
Their crazy bridge club nights, Sunday back road drives
Running for our lives down into Rhode's woods

And it seemed like something just this side of heaven
    Comin' from the AM radio
And it felt like it would just go on forever
Singin “Long Time Man” and “Pretty Peggy-o”

Now we're old and gray, mem'ries fade away
These are here to stay, that is out blessing

I love to tell the story
‘Twill be my theme in glory
To tell the old, old story
    Of Jesus and his love
    ================================

    Ah the Oedipus complex...

Wait, your sons want to have sex with women who are like their mothers too?

    What, exactly, are you shearing?

Knowing your attitudes towards women, even if you were advocating, no one with a sane mind would follow your example.

    No.

    Just.. No..

Why? Because she isn't fulfilling the role of what you think a mother should be to her sons? Since, you know, if she is a lesbian, then her sons won't be able to marry a woman who is just like her. She denies her sons, if they are men like you, of their sexual fantasy.

That's because women who are smarter than you scare you.

If she's not as dumb as you, you call her a lesbian or stupid. It's the same pattern with backward cavemen.

Cavemen might be a bit brutish but what about a Cave Boy? Are you smarter than him?

Ignorant on which subject ? Secure of my manliness , I had 3 wife two died and I live with the last one for 16 years she knows her place with in the family, we help each other , she is a professional and she build a business for herself . In my last marriages I avoided women with Anglo influence based on experience .

That song you described as "rise a healthy family" was written by Cheryl Wheeler, an activist lesbian.

I think anyone with an IQ higher than 10 is smarter than he is.

See, I don't think it matters what period you are born in. Women were always women. We were never confused. The only people confused are those like you who believe that their manliness in the home is based solely on how much their spouse knows her place and what is expected of her.

It's not about being equal or recognising her values and her sense of self. For people like you, it is about control. It is about you being 'da man'. It is about you expecting your wife to be your mother. You value women solely based on what you need, not on who she is. And the result is who you are today. A perverted misogynistic creep who blames women if they are raped (after all, she brings it on herself, and it's never the rapist's fault, because well, he is the man) and who went so far as to ponder whether children who are sexually abused by priests enjoy it in regards to why it happens. You place the blame on the victim, never on the men who commit such crimes. Because they are men and everyone around them must know their place.

And yours was or is? Did you say 9.9? I can not recall ever having to do an IQ test. I have no idea what it is. I'll have to look into it.

Did I say it was? Perhaps you can show me where I did?

Or are you like Arauca and you have issues with women who make up their own minds and do what they want to do instead of what you expect them to do? I think you and I both know the answer to that, don't we?

So not only do you have a great IQ but you are psychic too? Do you know all about me already even before I've said anything on the subject?

It's really a self-esteem issue, I think. Arauca (and people like him) require women to be subservient because he knows he's not strong enough to keep a woman who has a choice. If they are bound by some arbitrary moral code, or some debt to society, then all Arauca has to do is own a penis. And if she leaves him for one of the doubtless innumerable reasons a woman would want to rid herself of this baby-dicked misogynist, all he has to do is say she failed to uphold her end of the deal, failed to know her place, yadda yadda. What a bitch, right?

Same for our friend Rob, whom we all know expects women to do as they are told and doesn't want them to have a choice in the matter.

Isn't it great that you now include me among your friends. You must be the first genuine friend I have.
If the Lord tells you to do something, I would advise following it. I personally don't tell anyone to do anything. I'm a servant, so I take orders not give them.

Lets see, I am trying to discuss the subject matter and you enter the thread and cannot stop trying to goad a reaction. When you get the reaction you wanted, you whine..

This thread is about the history of sexism. I wonder why you are so defensive of a man who deems women to be his maid or his mother and has made some vile comments about women in general? Why is that Robbitybob1? Why are you so defensive of Arauca and his justifications for how he treats women?

Do you think it is acceptable? Do you think it is acceptable to blame women for their own rape? Do you think it is acceptable to expect women to 'know their place'? Do you think it is acceptable to whine that women have rights?

What are your thoughts on sexism Robbitybob1?

Or are you just here to whine at me because you can't get what you want?

I don't recall backing Arauca on his stance at all. No, what everyone did was to join us together because we had nominal Christian views.
I was brought up since my university days with women that had women equality in their hearts. I accepted that but found there was a time when equality turned to dominance. Is it women's equality you want or female dominance?
I accept that women are intelligent and some more intelligent than me too. So I would say I am the least sexist guy on the planet. I am not saying I won't make mistakes but I'm here to learn. That is why I come on the Science forums - to learn. I see there is plenty to learn from the women for they end up talking in a language that I haven't a clue what they are on about. I'm a relatively simple guy in comparison, but I'll learn it in the end.
And then I'll try and express my views - OK shoot me down.

My Dad was one of the worst dominating male chauvinistic pigs around but he would be nice to women and they seemed to like it, but I hated that. So I try to be nothing like my dad. So maybe I'm more even tempered, I really don't know how to approach females properly. But all I want is equality from them too.
All I've got on here has been people pulling me down, maybe we need to start a male equality movement?

It's not just a self esteem problem in men that causes sexism to exist. It is a self esteem issue in many women, who allow men to treat them less than they deserve. There's an old saying, but fits here: "We get what we accept."

A point on misogyny. That word gets tossed around a lot and is sometimes misused. Someone who is a true misogynist, has a disdain for women and it largely has to do with fearing women. They see women as rivals. Not all sexist men are misogynists, but all misogynists are sexist. Just wanted to make that point.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misogyny

Aristotle and Picasso, just to name a few …were misogynists.
