The people in Star Wars have advanced knowledge of wizardry and engage in conflicts of sword and sorcery. The droids have supreme strength.

Swords and sorcery don't do much against a peoples that has advanced energy weapons and the capacity to stun an entire city from orbit

Or if not bound by their moral code are capable of galaxy-wide mass via destruction of the fabric of reality (subspace/omega-based weapons) or messing with the timeline via time travel.

Or do a galaxy-run popping off mines that spread nanoprobes across 5 lightyears, and just infect societies and their technologies, and then beam up their new components on the return trip.

And yet you never see that used after the TOS episodes it was used in. Even then it was against extremely low tech civilizations. Wouldn't work up against a planetary shield. Hell it would work against an area shield like you see on Hoth and Naboo.

Still, if a light packing crate that acts like polystyrene can stop a phaser set on stun or even normal power, it is not going to do well against armored troops or even ones wearing modern flak jackets.

Besides, we all know that most crewman are weak minded. I don't need to influence command crew, just Ensign Ricky the redshirt and his buddies.

Of course the Star Trek universe would win. They've got Species 8472.

You mean the same armor that couldn't stop rocks, sticks, and wooden arrows?

Actually, the armor stopped it all just fine. The problem was the soldiers were still battered to death inside of it.

Besides, not even your car door can stop a powerful enough Bow and Arrow. And it doesn't take as much poundage as you would think.

A 30lb Hand crossbow with a plastic bolt and aluminum tip can penetrate half inch plywood. Same half inch plywood would stop a phaser blast the first time. How well does Lycra stop a blaster bolt? And remember we know from DS9 that Federation Ground troops do not wear much more than the Security officers. They don't even possess squad support weapons other that Photon Grenade Mortar launchers. And even those never saw use after the one episode.

The truth of the matter is according to Canon, which you cannot refute, the Star Wars Galaxy posses more of everything. They have more people on ONE PLANET than the entire Federation. They have more ship. They have greater firepower. They have greater defensive capabilities. They have more advanced AIs. They have better production facilities. They have more super weapons. They have more Godlike beings. I mean hello, the Force has a few physical incarnations.

Yes, I will admit the Q can do impressive things, but they have NEVER taken sides in a War between "lesser" races. It just hasn't happened. The Organians have, but they disappeared a while ago. So to say the Q would help the Star Trek galaxy? Not likely, just like I would not think the incarnations of the Force would help the Star Wars side. Both sets of beings would just get some beer and nachos and watch the fun while giving snarky commentary.

Now a more fun discussion would be, say the Federation stumbled upon the Empire during the Rebellion years. Would the Federation interfere with a legitimate government (It was barely)? or more likely would the Federation just offer asylum to the Rebel Alliance and offer to move the populations of Kashyyk and Mon Calamari into Federation Space? That would be a much more interesting conversation.

Who run away if more than one ship is destroyed. Given canon numbers that both sides swear by, Species 8472 would have three ships destroyed in under a minute and leave.

Besides, how would Species 8472 deal with the Yuuzhan Vong and their ability to use singularities as a defensive measure?

Um, well how do you usually deal with Yuuzhan Vong and their ability to use singularities as a defensive measure?

    Well, one of several ways.

    1. Overloading the singularity, only possible on fighters and took multiple light turbolaser hits in less than 15 seconds. Each light turbolaser is ~5gigatons of firepower. Each light turbolaser is the equivalent of 20 Galaxy Class starships unloading all their Power generation for that 15 seconds. According to canon of both series.

    2. Kinetic Weapons could fool the "defensive gunners" by making it hard to guess where the firing ship was shooting. this would be negated by the muzzle flash and glowing energy projectiles on nearly every ST naval kinetic weapon

    3. using Proton Torpedoes and Concussion missiles in a stealth mode by not using engines or engaging the proton shielding. this required the force to effectively use.
