New Delhi 'Helmeted Bugman' Terrorizing Incident of 2001

I saw this episode on "Weird or What?" for the first time last night and was amazed at the similarities with other helmeted entities of humanoid types reported from around the world, often with wings too. I immediately thought that the "monkey man" moniker was a misnomer. A "helmeted bugman" is more appropriate in my view.

These other reports had the similarities of encounters of bizarre 'helmeted' entities with eyes that were like inverted tear drop shapes.

The glowing red eyes are very similar to the mothman-type entity. There's possibly another cryptid responsible for the "as having a more vulpine snout, and being up to eight feet tall, and muscular; it would leap from building to building.."

The wikipedia entry Monkey-man of Delhi states that the original incident reports said the entity had glowing red eyes, yet the tv programme showed one red and one blue eye.

P.S. The giant insect hypothesis would fit with the metallic claws being made of chitin or more likely Elytron, the hard metallic-shiney substance which beetle wing covers are made of. A metallic sounding noise, reminiscent of dragging chains, is associated with red-glowing eyes seen at times of hangings in times gone by (wrongly attributed to the 'black dog' imv).

The source of the 'helmet' imagery of the bugman has evolved from the type of structure pictured here imv

The 'hooded reaper' type entity could also be imagined evolving from this beaked insect morphology.

    Black-Cloaked Entity Changed My Life

    Another Robed Figure

    Black-Hooded Figure With Red Eyes

Note to self: could red eyes and black eyes be a female/male identifier morphology?

This story includes the sound of wings:

Note to self: both all black and ghost white faces described. Mostly featureless and mask-like, others old/wrinkled looking.

You do realize that the excessive use of hallucinogenic drugs can cause long term health issue, right? You know it might be that these are not giant bugs after all, but may in fact be flying hyraxes! Think about it!

Hah - people have long memories!

Funnily enough, I think some reports have been mixed in with the genuine 'helmeted bugman' type. The wikipedia page Monkey-man of Delhi describes a second set of sightings thus:
The Indian version of bigfoot or hairy humanoid I put down to hyrax evolution, evidenced by the medulla hair analysis of the sample taken of the Sumatran Orang Pendek (short man) as well as the correct number of toes and high social intelligence and use of syntax to communicate.

Strange but true?.. P.S. I'm only drinking beer to take the edge of things nowadays.
