Largeness Nothing so large can be contained in one song. Still, though, in the spirit of the game: Monster Magnet, "Ego, the Living Planet": It's a start.

Going down now The mountain screamed three times today I guess it thought it'd like to play How much does one have to pay To fry a peak and melt away Launching titan's breath on mine The sweating measure lands on time And the old man is down by the river Well he gets up and he walks on down To the spaceship that's parked at your doorstep And it's waiting to take you away now Goin' down now Goin' down now Looking for the rate that crowed He's hooked up down in Mexico Slap my nerve now give me more It's my disaster friend, not yours And the old man is down by the river Well he gets up and he walks on down Ah, to the spaceship that's parked at your doorstep And it's waiting to take you away now And the last one, it's down by the river Where he gets up and he walks on down Ah, to the spaceship that's parked at your doorstep And it's waiting to take you away now It's down by the river It's always this way now It's down by the river It's always this way now Goin' down now Goin' down now Now Now Now Down Down Down
Otis Redding - When a man loves a woman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHS8LAqHyHs What questions does he ask himself? Classic old song. When a man loves a woman, can't keep his mind on nothing else He'll trade the world for the good thing he's found If she's bad he can't see it she can do no wrong Turn his back on his best friend if he put her down When a man loves a woman, spend his very last dime Tryin' to hold on to what he needs He'd give up all his comfort, sleep out in the rain If she said that's the way it ought to be Well, this man loves a woman I gave you everything I had Tryin' to hold on to your precious love Baby, please don't treat me bad When a man loves a woman, down deep in his soul She can bring him such misery If she plays him for a fool, he's the last one to know Lovin' eyes don't ever see Well, this man loves a woman I gave you everything I had Tryin' to hold on to your precious love Baby, please don't treat me bad When a man loves a woman, I know exactly how he feels Coz baby baby baby you're my world
This is a twelve-bar blues written by Memphis Slim in 1951. I can't find the original anywhere, but Tracy Nelson's first well-known band, Mother Earth, took their name from the song and did a fabulous rendition of it in 1968. It's been covered a zillion times, recently by Gov't Mule, but I still like Tracy's the best. Great piano and guitar solos! This is certainly my view on one really important part of life: the end. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Everyone who's sung it has updated the lyrics. This is the version I sing: MOTHER EARTH by Memphis Slim Well, you can high-hat me all the time, and you might never come my way. Mother Earth is calling for you, there's a debt you have to pay. I don't care how rich you are, I don't care what you're worth. When it all comes down, you've got to go back to Mother Earth. You may have a billion dollars; your dog has his own Cadillac. You may have enough money to buy anything you lack. Bridge Well, I'm not afraid of dyin', don't think it will cause me any pain. Ain't no one who's gone over there, ever come back to complain. Bridge.
Exile - I Wanna Kiss You All Over (1978) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJJQpSzDgC0 Exile - Kiss You All Over When I get home, babe, gonna light your fire All day I've been thinkin' about you, babe You're my one desire Gonna wrap my arms around you Hold you close to me Oh, babe I wanna taste your lips I wanna fill your fantasy, yeah I don't what I'd do without you, babe Don't know where I'd be You're not just another lover No, you're everything to me Ev'rytime I'm with you, baby I can't believe it's true When you're layin' in my arms And you do the things you do You can see it in my eyes I can feel it in your touch You don't have to say a thing Just let me show how much I love you, I need you, yeah I wanna kiss you all over And over again I wanna kiss you all over Till the night closes in Till the night closes in Stay with me, lay with me, holding me, loving me, baby Here with me, near with me, feeling you close to me, baby So show me, show me ev'rything you do 'cause baby no one does it quite like you I love you, I need you, oh, babe I wanna kiss you all over And over again I wanna kiss you all over Till the night closes in Till the night closes in Till the night closes in Till the night closes in Till the night closes in
Hmm, tough decision. Probably Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd, although I like the Shinedown version better. Either that or Live In Love by Times Of Grace.
The original "Mother Earth" by Memphis Slim. Thanks! I found a performance by Tracy Nelson, my favorite interpretation of the song. It's not with the band Mother Earth, but about ten years later after she became established as a solo act. Pretty much the same version, although without the fabulous guitar and piano solos. Her lyrics are much easier to understand than Memphis Slim's!
"Last Chance" by Shooting Star. I like "I'd love to change the world" by Ten Years After, too, but the message seems a bit ambiguous in some areas. I couldn't listen to any of the videos and post any links because the sound on my computer is muted and no volume control is showing. Uploaded on May 10, 2011 Seize the moment!! Lyrics: When the stranger came to town All the people watched with wonder In their tattered clothes Gathered 'round and raised their eyes up from the dirt And the stranger said to them I have been upon the mountain I have witnessed forces, like cannons That could ram you to the ground Stand up on your feet 'Cause your life is short as hell You could be dead tomorrow Today may be your Last chance to believe in yourself Your last chance to yell Your last chance to be good to yourself Your last chance to drink from life's well In the crowd a voice was heard Should we get them before they get you Should we strike the first blow He said no, no, no, you don't understand The enemy is in your heart Self-respect robbed by self-pity Look across the country All the people with their dreams dead in their hearts Stand up your feet 'Cause your life is short as hell You could be dead tomorrow Today may be your Last chance to believe in yourself Your last chance to yell Your last chance to be good to yourself Your last chance to drink from life's well So drink from the well Oh yeah It could be your Last chance to believe in yourself Your last chance to yell Your last chance to be good to yourself Your last chance to drink from life's well Drink from the well Oh yeah Yeah Drink from the well Category People & Blogs License Standard YouTube License
I would have to write my own song to best describe my views on life but there are several songs that speak to me.Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Songwriters: BROWNE, JACKSON Boy of mine As your fortune comes to carry you down the line And you watch as the changes unfold And you sort among the stories you've been told If some pieces of the picture are hard to find And the answers to your questions are hard to hold Take good care of your mother When you're making up your mind Should one thing or another take you from behind Though the world may make you hard and wild And determine how your life is styled When you've come to feel that you're the only child Take good care of your brother Let the disappointments pass Let the laughter fill your glass Let your illusions last until they shatter Whatever you might hope to find Among the thoughts that crowd your mind There won't be many that ever really matter But take good care of your mother And remember to be kind When the pain of another will serve you to remind That there are those who feel themselves exiled On whom the fortune never smiled And upon whose life the heartache has been piled They're just looking for another Lonely child And when you've found another soul Who sees into your own Take good care of each other

Blue Collar by Bachman-Turner OverDrive Walk your street And I'll walk mine And should we meet Would you spare me some time 'Cause you should see my world Meet my kind Before you judge our minds Blue collar Sleep your sleep I'm awake and alive I keep late hours Your nine to five So I would like you know I need the quiet hours To create in this world of mine Blue collar I'd like you to know at four in the morning Things are coming mine All I've seen, all I've done And those I hope to find I'd like to remind you at four in the morning My world is very still The air is fresh under diamond skies Makes me glad to be alive You keep that beat And I keep time Your restless face Is no longer mine I rest my feet While the world's in heat And I wish that you could do the same Blue collar Blue collar
sculptor, quinnsong and river, fraggle...thank you for your songs, they are so wonderful. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! So, something about me. I've been playing piano since I was a kid. After my dad died, I was lost, and ended up taking piano lessons. It changed my life during that time. Piano was my spirit...it brought me to places...where I could feel my dad with me. I played Clair De Lune by Claude Debussy, it was one of my first pieces that I learned for piano. I played it in a high school competition many moons ago...and I won! I thought of my dad the whole time...and how he inspired the piece, it came to be. It was Debussy's 151st birthday yesterday, and if he only knew how he has touched my life...if only... One could say this piece definitely shaped my life... Enjoy...
