Wegs, from what I hear in your posts, I think you will relate to this article about spirituality. As an atheist I certainly can relate to this narrative.

u r really funny how u buy being atheist now as if u r cool or inn

anything is objective moron, saying that u r an atheist by a hundredpercent theist argument, exhibit the liar evil u r

wat nature voice???? how animals life is of relationships, when the rule is kill to live, wat huge self are u thinking being of, when u dare point a voice to nature and everything while u nothing to, dare mean everything and anyone being nothing only to please urself being always easily superior

there is no reverence moron, all life is shit and clearly about crimes only, love is clearly the submission to get positive instead of being it

it is all about taking advantage of positive truth and the end of it

respect or consideration to b must b for superior values, since add to superiority could signify superior reality

which has nothing to do with u moron and ur lives, no matter how much humans n animals and universes u mean to confuse urself with

God is a spirit that resides in those that believe.

A spirit in one's mind often has real world effects, good and evil. If today you're a Christian and believe God is good, you might go around helping people in the real world. Real world impacts because of your belief in God. Maybe tomorrow you feel betrayed by God and disbelieve, and go around with hate and anger, making other people suffer from your beliefs, possibly even killing other people. Maybe your belief is that your belief is the correct belief, and that other beliefs are wrong, hence you feel the need to eliminate the other "non-believers" and relieve them from their ignorance and eliminate them from the world, possibly starting a world war because of your beliefs. It's all in the mind, and what you believe in your mind can affect the real world through your actions.

The mind is a powerful thing.

    @ absois

While your rudeness deserves to be ignored, I will share with you something. My dad died when I was nine and my mom when I was ten. My dad had cancer ...my mom was in a car wreck. I grew up not knowing who I was. Who ended up raising me ...abused me. I share this because I don't trust ppl. For me to see some genuine good out on the net here ...feels nice for a change. I think that the ppl here have shown me kindness more so than some Christian circles I've been in. And from my worldview of distrust, that's a nice thing. Nothing more or less.

What kind of God would allow a little girl to go through this? I have asked myself many times this. But I choose to believe there is more to the story. That suffering as a purpose. I have every reason to not believe in God, but I still do. This doesn't make me stupid or Pollyanna. It makes me hopeful. I share this because my worldview is and has always been based on fear and loss.

This life is hard. If I find some nice ppl along the way...I want to tell them.

You don't offend me. You are why I don't trust ppl.

    Have a good one.

So God exists outside of the mind? Where?

Let me ask you some things about God and Heaven:

    1. Where is Heaven?
    2. What temperature is it in Heaven, room temperature about 72 degrees Fahrenheit?
    3. How will you identify other people you know in Heaven?
    4. What will you do there?
    5. How will you think without a brain?
    6. Is there a definitive boundary between Heaven and Hell, ie, a fence or border? How about a map of the place?
    7. Will you eat there, or just be a perpetual spirit which exists defying the second law of thermodynamics?
    8. How is motion observed or measured in Heaven?
    9. Will there be rude people there?
    10. What if you don't like being in Heaven, are you stuck there for eternity, or can you call it quits at will? Does God force you to be there against your will?

I think you're a good person from the posts I've read of yours, and I'm not trying to make fun of you or belittle you, just trying to keep it real.

I believe what you call a "soul" is your mind and all that entails.

first it is absols, not absois, which confirm my point without saying anything more, u r fake

second, i dont care about ur story, meant to glorify suffer, u r freak

personnal lives are nothing to objective rights, n this is my point, right

ur happiness or lack of being happy is not an issue, u can realize it if u really want to and still it is not an issue nor that it matters

lot of people go through worse crimes done on them directly and they still are wether criminals themselves or right people as they are always

it doesnt mean a thing ur life, but objective reasons matter to all

when criminals are ruling beyond the world, how can u justify it??? and claim that u r learning???? u r evil now proven

ignore my posts and stay away from me

You're welcome. I think a lot of us lived in bubbles, especially us older folk who lived mostly before the Internet became popular.

Indeed, it was the Creator and Savior I was searching for. I had a religious dad whose practice of Christianity was liberal in some ways. One of those was the idea that prayers for help would get answered explicitly. It reminds me of the idea of prosperity theology.

Everyone comes to their own beliefs I guess at the end if the day.
I'm not interested in swaying anyone's opinions..
I just share how I've come to believe is all.
But I don't believe in pushing my beliefs on anyone.

    Nice chatting!

For what it's worth, I'm an atheist, but a couple years ago I spent the previous three years going to a Christian church. The pastor was awesome, and I have a great deal of respect for the man. I actually looked forward to, and enjoyed going every Sunday and listening to him preach. I learned alot about mind, but at no time did I believe in God, and still don't. Great speaker and great subjects, though!

Well that was nice of u to attend with her.
    Is she no longer Christian?

I only look at a persons heart you know?
Atheist or not. Doesn't matter to me as long as they treat me kindly.
From what I see here, you are kind.

She's still Christian, but I don't attend church anymore since I'm not with her anymore. I do recommend the church though, for any Christians that are in the Raleigh, NC area. It's an awesome church, and the Senior Pastor Chuck Milian is pure awesome!

My wife and I have been told by more than one Christian that we are more Christian than they are.

One fellow said that he couldn't imagine that God would be so selfish, egotistical and vengeful that he would not allow us into Heaven just because we don't believe in him, when it's full of people who do believe in him but don't honor him with their deeds. Especially since that tiny little detail of not believing in him will be taken care of the moment we arrive in Heaven.

That raises some perplexing issues that I've never seen discussed. Suppose your spouse dies and you re-marry. With which one will you be reunited in heaven?

I read the most outrageous "information" about heaven on a Christian website. A lady wrote in and said that the family dog had just died, and her little kids wanted to be assured that he'd be waiting for them in Heaven. She knew that according to conservative Christian doctrine, humans are the only animals with souls, so all of our other companions cannot enter heaven.

The minister on the website gave her this astounding advice:

We all know that God can do anything he wants. So even though Spot is dead and rotting, he can create an exact duplicate of Spot, right down to his memories and his recognition of your kids. Of course this is way over their heads. So just tell them, "Sure, Spot will be there." You can explain it when they're older.

    Can you believe that???

Of course when the kids do get older, the first thing that will probably pop into their minds about this is, "Poor Spot. He'll be so lonesome, having to wait several hundred dog-years before we finally show up!"

If dogs don't go to Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went. -- Will Rogers
