Let's try; It is the wheel that is squeaky that gets greased, since you atheists are self sufficient you take care of yourself. We need God and we believe we come from Him.

    The squeaky wheel fallacy:
This fallacy operates on the principle that [the] squeaky wheel gets the grease. If something is wrong with a conclusion it will 'squeak'. If we do not hear any complaints from the shop one can assure that the change adopted is OK. In experimental work, this fallacy arises when decisions are based on the absence of contrary evidence rather than the presence of supporting evidence...The cure for this fallacy lies in reaching conclusions based on the presence of positive supporting evidence rather than lack of contrary evidence.[7]

Why do Christians (and other religionists) insult and demean both themselves and other humans by belittling their accomplishments, saying, "God was responsible for this."

I think Goldberg's accomplishments should be appreciated. Why give the credit to some imaginary creature for whom it was no accomplishment at all, because he has supernatural powers and can do stuff like that any time he wants?

Note theists will only pray when there are odds favoring a good outcome. A man with an amputated limb will never be prayed over for recovery even though theologically there's no reason to doubt that God could as easily regrow a limb as shrink a tumor undergoing radiation treatment. A dead child will never be prayed over to be resurrected even though the Bible contains several accounts of this happening. It's a sign of disingenuity imo. God used as reason to believe the dice are going to be weighted in your favor if you pray before hand. If your roll wins, it must have been your prayer that did it. If it didn't win, oh well..you didn't have enough faith or some other convenient rationalization.

Interesting question, I also think that Goldberg should be appreciated for what he had done, just as any person should be appreciated for the good things they do in life. We don't know what God is responsible for or what we are responsible for, of course God enables our creativity, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't let us use it by ourselves. God also enables me to use my hands but what I create with them is up to me (though I couldn't if my life depended on it explain how I did when I raised a finger (if not willing it is acceptable)).

You're praying for something that requires suffering. I'd rather God not give us any illnesses, broken bones or doctors for that matter. Pray for a world where doctors aren't required.

God would have to exist and be an active force in our lives for him to enable our creativity, and that just plain isn't the case.

I have my answers and, happily, they do not coincide with yours.

If God wanted to save the motorcyclist why did he allow him to have the accident in the first place? It seems like sloppy management, poor time keeping, or both. Are these the hallmarks of a supreme deity?
