That's why a good diet of balanced stuff to eat is the best way to get all that you need .

That said it is also beneficial to take a one a day type of multi vitamin/mineral tablet daily to insure that you are getting what you need in case you do not eat a well balanced diet.

B-vitamins are water soluble hence need to be replaced every day and your needs of supplementing become greater with age

Once my entire body went numb. Even the tip of my tongue. When something strange occurs you start counting your days thinking Brain Tumor, but it was because I was taking too much Vitamin B supplements.

Be wary of too much Vitamin intakes, and take 1 a days more like once a week.

There is also links between too much metals like Iron, Calcium, etc and memory problems including alzheimers.

My deficiency in B-1 manifested this way

I had been drinking late very friday night , 5am sat. Morning , without eating , went to bed , got up around noon , ate lunch , then later ate diner

On sunday morning I woke , rolled over to my other side , my body went but my brain didn't , and when my brain catch up a few seconds later I almost fell off the bed , I just kept rolling forward , now this spooked me , brain damage but from what , the connection to the drinking didn't happen yet as I had eaten sat.

I got up and walked around , testing my balance , just moving my head slightly forward caused me to slightly loose my balance , so for a bigger test I moved to beside my bed , so that I could jump on it , so as not to injure myself should I sense that I would fall over .

I tilted my head forward and immediately got the sense of falling forward with no control , I leapt onto the bed . What the hell was going on

It slowly but definitely not completely eased a bit but there was definitely something wrong neurologically

Saw the doctor on the tuesday , she suggested B-1 supplements and of course blood tests , but B-1's have much to do with my balance !!!! I was shocked , a vitamin was essential for proper brain function !!. And as I found out I needed to get this vitamin , in at the very least everyday

Afterward and thinking about it on the way home , people talk of vitamin E , A , C and D but not much on the B's

So I researched these vitamins and found that B-vitamins work better in the complex form and there about 11 of them , most supplements have 8-11 the more the better , 12 if you include B-17 but thats another discussion

The next thing is the BIO-AVALABILITY , the ease a which the body can actually use the supplement you are taking , and thats any supplement , whether it be vitamins , minerals , amino-acids etc , the bio-chemical form its in, very important

I take extra of certain vitamins , I take minerals and I'm on the Atkins diet as well

The experience was an eye opener

Feel free to ask me any other questions , anybody
