You were also the first one to promise to re-run the experiment. Since then, all talk and no action.
Now you are too busy but you aren't too busy to post on multiple threads not only on this forum but on many other forums. If you spammed the threads less and worked on real stuff more, you would be much improved.

    Congrats to RJBeery and Neddy Bate;

The first video debunked Nordberg's claim. The second video and Neddy Bate's observation shows how Nordberg rigged the experiment. Q-reesus was aware that the hollow copper sphere was a red herring.

An interesting topic about the earth's magnetic field, the magnetic fields of compass needles, and the magnetic field around current carrying conductors.

I did mention that I was too busy from the start. I go on other forums so as to get a wider range of diverse opinions.

I see, this is why you post the same exact subject multiple times on multiple forums.

    Thanks Tach.
That solves all the mutual interaction effects yes. It was the case in Mark 1 setup, but as we know 'held in hand' is not very precise.
I will take some blame for the pulsing regime. Unless a heavy duty current supply is used - car battery or heavy duty charger - temporary (and then longer term) exhaustion is a problem and it impacts reproducibility. Multimeter (one with a 20A current range) in series is a check for that. I would be happy at this point if all participants here now acknowledge standard EM has passed yet again.

Not "held in hand". "Placed on the shelf".

Err.. yes I was mixing it a bit and was continuing reference to the Mark 1 experiment in referring to 'held in hand', but agree any repeat (eram I suppose) needs to have compass fixed at constant r settings.

I'm not sure how you know that Nordberg's sphere is much larger than RJ's sphere, or that Nordberg's compasses are much farther apart than RJ's? Am I missing some clues as to the size of Nordberg's experimental apparatus? If I assume the scale of RJ's and Nordberg's apparatuses are about the same, I can imagine that Nordberg's compasses might just happen to have more powerful magnets in them, compared to RJ's. However, if you are correct that Nordberg's scale is much larger, then the probability of his charlatanism increases. By the way, I do agree with you that Nordberg's "column of spheres" is very troubling. What are those spheres doing there? lol

That column is the basis of Nordberg's funny theory.

Around 11:24 you can get some sense of scale. It looks to be about the same as RJ's.

Oh man, I missed that juicy tidbit.

Thanks eram. I see the scale now.

According to him, this experiment unifies gravity with electromagnetism, explains the structures of photons and galaxies, enables him to construct an awesome fusion reactor, and will bring water to famine-struck sub-Sahara.

    Too bad it's all wrong!

His level of delusion is really high.

Estimation of sphere size based on say 4:49 minute mark. Nordberg looks to be a fairly big fella and one expects hands in proportion. Grasp your own hands in same pose, lay against marks on a desk edge, and measure with a ruler. I figure from that, copper sphere around 8" dia., compared to RJB's 5". As for compass spacing, at say 6:23 mark impression is spacing is a large fraction of sphere diameter - at least half and likely more. Compare to RJB's 2-compass spacing in his Mark 2 vid at say 2:16 mark - I'd say less in proportion to sphere size than for Nordberg's case. Given strength of dipole-dipole torque (as per compass alignments) goes as 1/r^3, virtually no chance imo Nordberg's compasses are misaligned on that basis, even allowing he may well have stupidly had earth's field at roughly right angles to radius line from wire/sphere axis to compasses, instead of inline as was RJB case. But that cannot explain why, even if compasses were sufficiently stronger (much stronger) than RJB's, perfect anti-parallel alignment was not in place prior to current pulsing episode. Clearly some other source of field is present from the start, and as said before, likely culprit is that column of steel spheres - or a 'hidden extra' we're not privy to.

In the end this is all best estimate guesses, as Nordberg supplies no hard data whatsoever. And I note that one or two now crowing at Nordberg as charlatan were not among the only two of us that came out from the start saying it had to be wrong. From the start I based it on fundamental symmetry considerations, but more significantly that Ampere's law must work and forbids the claimed 'reversing'. One individual apparently still isn't convinced, but that's ok as any further testing - done right- will only confirm standard theory.
Look I'm all for having an open mind and there should be no sacred cows when it comes to even apparently inviolable physics laws/principles. Witness my own luckless attempts to get sensible feedback re magnetic energy scenario brought up twice now, but treated as a hot potato by those who know exactly what's involved and what's predicted. But in Nordberg case, there is simply way too much consistent and long established observational evidence validating the Maxwell equations relevant.
