Think about it, haven't we all said to ourselves, "Gee, that person strongly reminds me of someone"?...

    Yes, many, many times!

Often we think, "Yea, they're like so-and- so." And then they're are times we just can't pin point it.
Well, lets think about this further...
Have you ever made a connection between not just two people but three, four, or more people being so similar, they are essentially like the same person?
    It makes you start thinking...

So, this presents the question: Have all people been born before?
Specifically, I am referring to people with both a very similar personality AND overall appearance, not one or the other.
And by appearance I don't mean: "Oh, they have the same nose..." (Overall similarities, not small ones.)

The human population is, of course very diverse but I strongly feel there are these interlinking webs that we cannot easily see.
I believe these interlinking webs connect "niches of people". (And who knows how many there are).

I am not suggesting clones or twins

but groups of personnas who distinctly personify a given personality and appearance which make them related.

So, if all people have been born before, why? ?[/B]

Could it be that the human embodiment has such a unique combination of traits that one of them is not enough? Like a painting with different sets of brush strokes, they are all important for the overall picture?
(Trees are surely important and we don't have just one!

Furthermore, if you believe that you were created for a reason, and all of your traits are to serve a role, then wouldn't multiples of you ensure that your role is fulfilled?
For instance, it would be near to impossible for each person on earth to have just one, and ONLY one perfect mate.
This certainly would solve that problem (and the fears of womankind

    ...)

What do you think? Have you connected people like this?

It is just that there is no evidence to compel me to think otherwise.

So what does that have to do with OP?

Of course! How else did they get here? And a bunch more are in the oven. By the time they get a sense of the world, the newbies will probably come to the understanding that the capacity for behavior is genetically endowed, from a complex set of traits first seen in the Cambrian, when organisms began cooperating in colonial forms . . . and especially in the greatest innovation to cooperative behavior -- sexual reproduction.

    Here's to chemistry:

Not only have all people been born before, but possibility exists that each one of us will experience every conscious being life ever to exist.

    Welcome,

Yes. Your spirit has occupied another body in a pre-existing life if that is what you mean. This is likely a better Thread for Religion than Parapsychology as reincarnation fits closely to many religious beliefs.

25% of the World Population believes in reincarnation.

I believe Hindu and Buddhism are the most accurate religions.

If someone is raised as christian then I don't blame them for being atheist.

They say that one of the signs of middle age is when everyone you meet reminds you of someone you used to know.

Uh, like I said there is no evidence to compel me to think otherwise. I don't believe werewolves live in the sewers of NYC. It could be true, but there just is no evidence that it is. People have come up with millions of stories and beliefs - I could assume they are true and investigate them all or give myself a break and say I need some evidence that something is true before it is worth me considering.

I'll bet at least 25% of the population believe it is OK to beat there wives. The point here is, "can 25% of the population be wrong"? Of course.

Well isn't that special. I think that Judaism and Muslims have the most accurate religions.

    Care to define "spirit"?
And your evidence for such a claim?
Is that an appeal to popularity I hear?
And Christians and Muslims and others would disagree.
But otherwise you would blame someone?
So if someone is raised a Hindu you would blame them for being atheist?
Odd view to have, in my opinion.

And monkeys may fly out of my butt. It's possible.

This is true only in the sense that everyone's mentality is controlled to a large extent by previous human culture. So we inherit our worldview from the past (in a sense, our minds), and our bodies are made of physical compounds that do return to other bodies eventually.

The question asked is a very subjective one, as the human mind is biased to finding shared patterns in things. Combine that with the fact that people tend to be more alike in many behaviors than not, and of course we'll get that feeling that we recognize someone. It's a bit like deja vu, or pareidola, or after-the-fact prophecies. The mind is hard wired to try and make sense of things by matching phenomena together, and sometimes it fools itself.

It's appealing and fantastic to some to think that there's something else going on, like spirits or reincarnation or shared souls, but simply no objective evidence to support that.

There are 7 Billion people (+) on this planet. Not long ago, I recall it was 6B, and when I was a kid it was under 5B.

I would suppose (without having the time to find a population graph) that sometime in the last 500 years it was under 1B.

Where are all these additional souls coming from ?

    @ Everyone else,
This is simply religion. I have written an extensive post as to why I believe in god. Here is that post.

If you choose not to believe I understand as the evidence is very subtle and easily overlooked by those who lack the perception.

I choose to ignore any of the negative postings regarding reincarnation as the skeptic view is only an opinion and cannot be backed up by science. Prove that reincarnation cannot exist and then maybe I will take notice. Until then it is simply religion vs skepticism and pure opinion.

Prove a negative? Of course you realize that setting an impossible goal for us doesn't make your opinion true, right?
