    What magnetic field Venus has is induced by its ionosphere and the solar wind, and not by geologic processes. And it is very, very weak.

    Take your very first long paragraph of this thread, and explain Venus' weather, orbit, and everything else you claim needs a magnetic field to exist, if Venus has basically no magnetic field to speak of. And try reading the links, slowly this time.

    Seriously. At least make some arguments that stand up. You're not even trying.

    What exactly are you an expert of? You clearly are completely ignorant of every apect of science that you have discussed on this site.

    A science illiterate leader.

    What mathematics supported cold fusion?

    Give me a break! Your evidence is a young earth bible site and a site that looks like it was written by a 12 year old? Are you really that clueless or are you joking?

    Weather phenomena cannot be measured with a magnometer! The Aurora Borealis is not a weather phenomena.

    Strong thunderstorms can have a green tint. Only a fool would somehow think that has a relationship to the aurora. Grass is also green - what does that mean to you with your child like understanding of science?

    You are a lost ball in high weeds. This paragraph is like something that would be on the Onion, you have got to be joking, is your understanding really that shallow?

    I dislike how the Global Warming Debate thread has been overwritten by someone who simply re-titled a new thread calling it "The Global warming Conspiracy". There was a lot of good information in the former thread. I object to the thread name also, as it infers that there is only one side to this debate.

    Lets look at a couple of claims and your sources.

    Not one single site supports your absurd conjecture that the gravitional field has weakened by 10%.

    Conclusion: You made it up or do not have a very high level of reading comprehension.

    This reference contradicts your claim.

    This reference also contradicts your claim.

    This url did not work.

    This reference also contradicts your claim.

    This source did not address your claim.

    This source contradicts your claim.

    These 2 sources are written by a moron.

    All of the real science sources that you supplied say you are wrong. The moron thinks you are right though....

    I just object to it because it has nothing to do with climate change. Or science. Maybe a lesson in how to not back up a claim or make an argument.

    Rhaedas'

    Now, you said previously, and I quote, "Venus don't have much of a magnetic field to speak of" those website also prove my right.

    I didn't say how strong Venus magnetic field is, all I no Venus has a weak magnetic field.

    Rhaedas,

    I been involve wit geophysics, and global warming since July-1983. Unlike yourself I'm not an over night expert. And I don't know what the other thread said about global warming. All I know I'm the only one that saying earth's orbit around the sun is destabilizing, and I been saying it for 29 years.

    And I'll ask again, even though you seem to like avoiding answering direct questions, how does a weak magnetic field affect your hypothesis of magnetic fields being important for the planet's atmosphere, orbit, etc.?

    all I'm saying Venus does have a magnetic field, and it protects the surface from the sun solar winds.

    No, Venus's remarkably thick atmosphere protects the surface from solar winds. It doesn't have much of a magnetic field. If you want to read more on this:

    ========================
    THE INTERACTION OF THE SOLAR WIND WITH VENUS
    University of California, Los Angeles
    Space Research Institute, Moscow

    Venus has been more frequently studied by space missions than any other planet. Consequently, we know more about the solar wind interaction with Venus than with any planet except the Earth. Unlike the Earth, Venus's ionosphere, not a magnetosphere deflects the solar wind flow. However, as on the Earth, this deflection is accomplished with the formation of a bow shock, which heats and compresses the solar wind flow The shock is both closer to the planet and weaker than would be expected for an ideal gas dynamic interaction with a perfectly reflecting obstacle. The ionized flow of the magnetosheath can interact directly with the neutral atmosphere through charge exchange and photoionization. The former process removes momentum from the flow; both processes add mass to the solar wind, since the high altitude neutral atmosphere is mainly hot oxygen, not hydrogen. Finally, Venus, like Earth, has a magnetotail but not for the same reason. The mass loading of the flow in the magnetosheath slows the transport of magnetic flux tubes past the planet, while the ends of the tubes continue to travel rapidly in the solar wind. Thus the planet accretes interplanetary magnetic flux. This process is the dominant source for the magnetotail flux, not unipolar induction, although the latter process is present at least when the solar wind dynamic pressure is high. On the whole, the solar wind interaction with Venus is more comet-like than Earth-like.

    Venus is the Earth's closest planetary neighbor, both in distance and in physical properties. The closeness in space has invited frequent exploration: the Venera series of spacecraft, three Mariner flybys and the Pioneer Venus orbiter and probe mission. The similarity in size, density, and a dense atmosphere has invited speculation that Venus is similar to the Earth in other ways as well, but we find many differences. The most important difference in interaction of the solar wind is the weakness or absence of a planetary magnetic field on Venus, which in this respect is more akin to a comet than to the Earth. We would expect Venus's magnetic field to be weaker than the Earth's simply because Venus's rotation rate is much lower (Busse 1976). Venus rotates on its axis with respect to the stars once in 243 d; the earth's rotational period is only 23 hr 56 min 4 s. However, Venus's field is much weaker than would be extrapolated from comparison with the terrestrial field, implying that there are probably important differences between the interiors of Earth and Venus, which affect Venus's ability to generate a self-sustaining magnetic dynamo.

    Not only are you not an overnight expert you are not an expert at all. Saying nonsense for 29 years does not make you an expert, quite the opposite it means you have refused to learn (or maybe understand) some simple astronomy and physics.

    (2). I'm just tell you what other scientist said about carbon dating. website 2 is a university study.www.angelfire.com/mi/dinosaurs/carbondating.html.

    (2). The scientists were about to obtain funding for cold fusion, because they presented mathematical formulas that proves the theory was sound.

    (3). The magnetic field of a thunderstorm can be measured. all thunderstorm, hurricane, snowstorm, aurora borealis, and tornadoes generate electromagnetic fields that can be measured. some scientist see the aurora borealis as a weather events. I have seen super cells, and thunderstorm with a greenish tints, the same color as the aurora borealis.

    Origin,

    (1). You are a liar that material does supports the earth's magnetic field has weaken by 10%. There's lots of supporting material.
    http://www.geomag.bgs.ac.uk/education/reversals.html.

    (2) Listen grasshopper it demonstrates that the chandler's wobble has moved from it original position in 1909. This coincide with the earth shifting on it axis by an additional 26 degrees. also the earth magnetic magnetic is reversing, and correlate with the earth shifting on it axis by 26 degres.

    (3). http://science.nasa.gov/science-news...magneticfield/. this website correlates with the earth shifting on it axis an additional 26 degrees

    (4). These two website are valid, grasshopper. The shifting of earth axis is the reason the southern part of the northern hemisphere is experiencing sunny warm winter. This region of the planet is facing towards the sun. You are incapable in visualization, grasshopper.

    Weakening and reversal of the dipole moment is not synonymous with weakening of the field.

    Thus your pop-physics web page which reads in part:
    does not demonstrate the field weakens by about 90% of it's normal value, but only the dipole moment weakens by this much.

    A more technical source explains that the energy lost to the dipole moment appears in the higher magnetic moments and thus is available to complete the pole reversal without violating energy conservation.

    Link broken. Good reference for you from skywise:

    ===============================
    Earth's Axis: Tilting at Windmills
    copyright © 2009, B. Vanderkolk

    There are those on the Internet who have been espousing their idea that the axis of the Earth has changed. The major problem with this idea is, why haven't the astronomers noticed? Of course, "they're all in on it". However, you can't control all the millions upon millions of amateur stargazers in the world. There would be no way to hide something as significant as the axis shifting from these folks. They'd be all over it in a heartbeat.

    The basic premise of all these claims is simple, that the axis of the Earth has changed from it's known 23.439° to some other value. Some claims are as large as 25 degrees or more, others claim it swishes around from day to day. The reason behind these axial tilts vary. Some claim it has to do with a "polar reversal", an obvious misunderstanding of the very real magnetic field flip that the Earth has experienced in the past. Others connect this shift with Planet X, also known as Nibiru. Still others claim a connection to the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012. For our purposes the reason for this alleged tilt is irrelevant when it comes to proving such an axis shift as erroneous.

    The truth is, the axis tilt is measured every day to very high precision, this by default any time someone uses a telescope to track the stars. The motorized mounts of the telescopes, whether they be relatively cheap manually operated scopes to the multi-million dollar behemoths at such places as Cerro Tololo and Mauna Kea, all require precise knowledge of the axial tilt of the Earth and the latitude of the telescope on the planet. If the axis changes by even a small fraction of a degree, these precise instruments would notice this change very quickly by their failure to properly track the objects they are pointed at. Even an amateur astronomer with a modest telescope could detect such a change.
    =================================

    "The southern part of the northen hemisphere" is the equator and thereabouts. If the axis of rotation shifted it would get colder, not warmer.
