I can hardly believe this. BK your way. Guess not.... http://www.vibe.com/article/Burger-King-Admits-To-Horse-Meat If bk did it who's going to do something like this next. How could there be individual lawsuits? Did anyone guess at this? Could this have gone further?
Once all the BK are out of China they will finally be a superpower, and their plan will be complete. Bwahahahaha Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! The Romans would race horses, and then sacrifice the winner during the Ides of March. "Run slow you stupid horse" I've been thrown from a horse 3 times in my life, and used to be a part owner of a English Jumper Mare. I could never send a horse to the glue factory never mind eat it. A horse dying in your stable though may seem preferable, but it is not pleasant how they must be carried off. I am glad to have never owned a dying horse as that decision would be rough.
Even though I strongly oppose this, it's not a major deal because no big company can control ALL of it's suppliers all of the time.
what is horse meat called anyways? pig = pork cow = beef deer = venison and I see no difference between any of it. Its all edible muscle tissue. It eats the same
Horses are also very particular about what they eat, at least in my experience, and I would be less concerned about eating horse than many other 'factory farmed' species. Horse meat is still consumed in many parts of the world and if you have ever eaten red meat in Mexico, there's a good chance you may have ingested horse as they are one of the world's largest producers of horse meat and it is used both for human consumption and animal food.
There's a big difference between eating pork and cow, because of their diets and digestion. I think pork is the unhealthiest of those meats. But it doesnt matter as much since farmers are feeding the same meals to both animals -_- But yeah, you definitely have a mindset similar to a cannibal. Watch out! Don't know how true it is. I heard from a friend who has a horse that horse meat is tougher. Cowboys did eat horse if there were "desperate". I know I don't want to willingly eat any horse or cat or dog. Unless I'm super desperate. but wolves are not really dogs. I may consider some wolf meat. Not sure on that.
IIRC, the problem in this case is not the horse meat in it of itself, but the food safety regulations in place. Pigs and cows are both considered legal food sources and thus have regulations on the kinds of food/injections they can have in the course of development. Horses, on the other hand, are not legal sources of food and are not regulated as such. They are often injected with substances to enhance their performance; substances which would not be allowed to be injected in pigs and cows. If horse meat is then illegally incorporated into hamburgers, there would be serious questions regarding the safety of the meat.
Not piling on I'm not going to knock Burger King for this; the story has been bubbling up throughout January, and the problem seems to be with the companies that supply the restaurants. And, in truth, I already knock BK for having crappy food, anyway, so ... yeah. Irish authorities appear to be on point for this investigation; the latest shocker is that beef imported from Poland is registering as high as 75% horse meat.
Remember this, the guy taking a bath in the BK sink. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRFwcN_EOSU I like a well-run BK. But unfortunately, I think there are management problems at BK. I stopped going to BK because the food quality in my area just wasn't there. I just don't find soggy food appealing. Maybe BK stores in other areas are good, but not in my area. I was very satisfied with the BK restaurants in Ohio a few years ago. But given all the smoke, I have to think there is a fire somewhere. The organization doesn't appear to be exercising sufficient control over its suppliers or its franchises.
Good points. Unless the horses are wild (BYE MR ED!!). And think of this. If,IF horses can be "sneaked" into the main food what else could be in there. There could be anything even Mob members may have added human. May see this on your milk carton. Have YOU seen my horse... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! as workaholic pointed out, there's less regulations on horsemeat than, lets say, beef or chicken which is more readily packaged for mass market consumption. I think they've already found a potentially harmful drug in the horsemeat found in some meat products, it was a painkiller for horses but never meant for human consumption.
I live in Michigan USA. I wonder if I can buy a horse and butcher it for food. I know I can't do it to cats or dogs, but I never wondered about a horse before.
