Naah I want him to know how people are thinking or else he will be taken advantage of. I have never tried to sugarcoat reality for him. I am neither aspie, that I know of, or a misanthropist (though I am not absolutely certain of all usages of the word) but i agree with you. I do not believe that it is natural human nature to be altruistic at all. If anyone accomplishes a pattern of displaying altruism, they likely had to find at least a mildly selfish motivation for doing so. For instance, one may behave altruistically so that people will like them and trust them and therefore be willing to put them in a position of power or give them gifts. Just look at evangelists who run telethons to help the poor, and in doing so they help themselves. Altruism? not really when you see the motives. Even in faith people avoid "sin" and do good works so that they will get rewards from God.

I think you are lucky really to be able to see the world quite plainly for what it is rather than through a screen of feel good self delusions.

Reality may not be pretty or friendly but it sure beats living in the land of make believe.

I'm not sure that I would want to stay conscious and watch the lights go dim. Since I've never experienced death before, I wouldn't know what to expect.

lol, its true even among aspies there is individualism. No two aspies exactly alike.

 

Neverfly and I have ridden a roller coaster with such strong g force that we both began to lose consciousness in one part of the ride just before it stops half way through only to take off again reaching the same Gs again. It was a strange feeling for me to not be under any sedation yet to see everything going dim because, I'm assuming, the blood was being pulled out of my brain. Then of course when we stop the blood comes rushing back and the lights come back on.

But having been clinically dead before, it's not that spectactular. A quick hallucination before it all goes black and all is peaceful. Kinda like when you sleep really hard and have no recollection of any dreams. Its like you didn't exist rather than having slept well. I am guessing that is what death feels like. Nothing.

 

I'm being honest I really don't know what you're implying I’m doing with seagypsy. Frankly I didn't have any underlying motives or underlying desires that could be interpreted as spurious or malicious.

I'm being really honest I have no idea why Neverfly was Laughing His Butt Off ( the acronym i had to look up for its definition). Was it something I said that was funny, contradictive, or was Neverfly using sarcasm? I'm really just confused about what i'm being accused of doing. :shrug:
