I cannot wait, I love the Olympics. People from all over the world coming together to watch and participate in sports, great stuff. I'll be taking a trip to the Olympic park next week, should be a fun day out.
They do it at any World Championship too. Also Asian Games. And how can we compare China with Albania???
(sighs) Yeah...pretty much sums up the situation. I think i'll just watch grass grow now or paint dry, or a congressional debate...(sigh)
Well, if it includes more of this girl, then yes!
whats is it with Americans, they can't even enjoy a man do sports without labeling it as gay, they need women all over the screen doing it. It's like a subconscious fear of man connection to understanding sports like other men do, nope it has to equate to sexuality...which in turn translates to watching overhyped estrogen-low bulky women going for it...
I think the Olympics are becoming less relevant in the US due to how pervasive collegiate and professional sports have become. I'm sure the numbers are still there in terms of sponsorships and viewers, but it just doesn't seem to penetrate the culture here as much as perhaps it used to, save for seminal moments such as Michael Phelps' record-breaking run (er, swim) in Beijing, Rulon Gardener defeating Karelin at the 2000 games, or the Women's Soccer team taking the gold in '96 (which I think was probably the biggest win for the US at the Olympics in my life). That said, I'm a sports junkie, so I'll watch when I can. Especially when my ladyfair Lolo Jones is running...
I prefer the winter games, being a snowboarder and skier,... used to watch the Summer Games when I was a kid, as I did Judo, and the UK had a competitor that had scored a couple of medals in previous games, so Judo got some coverage. I'll check the highlights of these games on the news, but I can't be bothered to tune in during the day, there's just too much going on. I did go out an cheer on the torch though, but then the route meant it started it's journey a few hundreds yards from my house one morning, so it would have rude not to.
The cold war Olympics were definitely better. Remember the Eastern Bloc women shotputters? Wa-wa-wey-wa! GO USSR!
I care and I'll watch. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. We've spent nearly 20 Billion on this sporting Beano. It had better be good.
I watched American Ninja Warrior yesterday. The only competitor who made it, hit the button at 0.03 second left, now, that's what I call excitement!!! Olympics, schmolimpics...
If you were in Las Vegas at the time of filming, then it was the real thing... And didn't have to worry about security or high ticket prices...
The naiveness of that rhetorical question begs to differ on its own behalf for its existence as a question is questionable at best... How much to drag on involvement in conversation with such naiveness? No C.K. using a wii instead of Olympics 2012 will not suffice, since it is nowhere close to the amount of physical activity expected from real athletes in Olympics.
Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Will Keep Bikini Look at London Olympics May-Treanor says they are leaning toward their skimpiest apparel. “We pack cold weather gear, but if it stays like this we’ll stay in our bikinis,” she said Wednesday. “We wouldn’t be playing in shorts. It’s not comfortable. You get sand everywhere.”
