Neither does religious freedom, which is protected by law in Germany, give grounds for such decisions to be taken for the children, the ruling says."

I could counter argue, that there is a huge difference between living in empowerished Africa and rich and educated Germany.

Also, if you cut off the breast of young girls, they will never get breast cancer later on. Just think about it for a while...

Good, no one would argue that FGM should be allowed for religious reasons and neither should MGM and BTW mad, CONDOMS are the best method of preventing HIV and it has been shown time after time that whatever protection it gives against the african strain is NOT transferable to the more virulent US strain which has infected the rest of the world

Very smart move, Germany. Circumcision is one of the most barbaric procedures conceived of. There was never any sense in removing a piece of living, functional tissue that men evolved with for a reason.

Your analogy is extremely bad. There's a better way to avoid getting HIV: don't abuse IV drugs and don't have unsafe sex with skanks.

As well, HIV is not an epidemic in Germany and other developed countries.

 

Indeed, one of the main reasons circumcisions are still performed in the USA is because it's a huge moneymaker for hospitals. It began only a few decades ago, when jewish doctors surreptitiously urged young couples to have the procedure done for the sake of "hygiene."

Those in this thread who have been circumcised (such as madanthonywayne) defend the practice because they don't like thinking of themselves as "damaged goods." Attempting to validate the sick procedure that was done to them is their only way of coping.

Circumcision is also on the decline in the USA. In many states, medicaid no longer subsidizes circumcision, meaning you have to pay for it yourself. People are waking up.
