Yes, most foreigners I have met, both recently in Brazil and years ago when I spent 30 days or so in several different summers,* traveling around Europe on Euro Rail passes make a very clear distinction between their feeling towards Americans (like them) and America (disapprove of much of what it does).**
Yes they could do better, but that is sort of "blaming the victims" at least for Central and South America.

First contact with the Europeans was 100% exploitation and dishonesty that continued until the Monroe Doctrine was proclaimed. After that the exploitation was mainly by US based companies like United Fruit, usually with some rich small set of local land owners helping exploit the masses. The US supplied these cooperating local lords with water canon, tear gas, jeeps, etc. to keep their hold on power and the masses very poor and uneducated. Even today, Brazil has everything it needs in abundance, except a well educted population – that takes several generations to achieve, as attitude of the parents, is more important than the schools, which are still very poor.***

Slowly starting in the 1900s South Americana did get some reforms and moved towards democracy, but there is little of that even today in Central America where the older ways still prevail. For example, just last year, the US supported the military coup drove the elected president out of Honduras, still in his PJs in the middle of the night. Only the then US puppet government of Columbia recognized the military dictatorship - not one other country in all of S. America did. (That puppet government has been overthrown by the people and now the government of Columbia trades with Venezuela and has cancelled the agreement granting the US the right to build 11 fighters bomber bases in Columbia, etc.)

That brief history with limited democracy is why the CIA´s actions starting in the ~1970 that destroyed EVERY ONE of these budding democracies in S. America was so despised by those who lived througn it and were related to, or just knew, one of the 50,000 who were killed for trying to restore democracy.**** It is remarkable that the current president of Brazil and the prior president of Chile who were jailed and tortured by the US supported dictatorships are / were willing to cooperate with the US in anyway; however, that was 39 or more years ago, and people do move on just as Americans, no longer hate the "Japs" and now regret that Japanese Americans were rounded up and put into guarded concentration camps.

    * My Norwegian first wife, took kids and visited her mother while I travel on Euro Rail during summer vacations. Both kids (now with childern of their own) are fluent in Norwegian, both language and culture.

** In part this disapproval is based one economic hardships the US caused. (and still does with the "Export of inflation" that the flood of printing press dollars is making. For example, the value of the Brazilain Real was doubled by dollars coming to Brazil making demand for Real as only Real can be invested here. That increase in the Real´s value completely destroyed several Brazilain export industries, like shoes, etc. This effect is often called the "Dutch disease" as Dutch industry was destroyed by flood of funds into Holland when the North Sea oil was discovered.)

I don´t know if you notice it already or will only in the future, but some of the dislike of China (not of Chineses) by Americas is due to the economic hardships China is making (and has made) for the US. Loss of jobs, etc.

*** I have suggested in other posts that surviving 300+ years under landowner who could rape or kill you at their pleasure made Darwinian pressure for high native intelligence. I have found that common in Brazil. For example, I believe our maid is inherently more intelligent than I am, but she quit school after the fourth grade. Thus, I said in those posts that when Brazil does adequately educate its masses, the world will have a new intellectual leadership.

**** I just now realized that these "deaths for democracy" are quite parallel to what is happen as I type in Síria. The only difference is that in Síria it is a ruling family clinging to dictatorial power and in the S. America case it was a US governmental organization, with local agents, that did the killing. Read about the CIA´s computer based tracking system, called "operation condor", that made it nearly impossible for a democracy activists to survive by crossing the border. The dictators, did not trust each other, but all cooperated with the CIA in capturing and killing the democracy activists.

I think we're all missing the big picture here. Would you have liked it better if dead taliban urinated on marines? I wouldn't, that would be scary.

I'd probably do a lot worse to a dead corpse if I was a soldier in a war. Think about it: this jackass just blew your friend's head off.

Anyway, I'm against the War in Iraq to begin with so that's the only thing that offends me about the video.

This took place in Afghanistan, not Iraq. There are no Taliban in Iraq.

YES! I would. It would have been far better for the cause.

Is there any evidence that an act such as this would negatively affect the war effort?

Yes, it's perceived as disrespecting all Muslims for some reason.

Again, is there any evidence that this has a negative effect on the war effort?

You don't think the zombie aspect would drive the world to new concerns?

Yes, it's perceived as disrespecting all Muslims for some reason.

Yes, they are all in Afghanistan, getting ready for power.
Look at some recent court decisions. eg

In one case described by the HRW report, a woman named Souriya Y was given away for marriage at the age of 12 to resolve a family dispute. Her husband was abusive, but her father encouraged her to be patient. Nine years into the marriage, her husband accused her of running away and having sex with one of his enemies. Souriya told HRW she saw the man she was accused of running away with for the first time in court and says her husband made up the story to get rid of her and shame his rival. She was convicted and sentenced to five and a half years in prison
