Okay I'm going to have to... ask for a couple of kilo's of the anti stuff to verify that...

    source wiki

    Maybe according to http://news.scotsman.com/scitech.cfm?id=16902006
It would certainly help if Bush wasn't that determent to trow money to revisit the most expensive golf coarse in the earth system.

Annyway it's certainley true that there may be something out there like hyperspace where space crafts could move FTL. Altough it's yust basic theory these days.

So what is it going to be? Anti-gravity propulsion or a spacewarp drive to get us to Alpha Centuari?

    Inertia Drive

How about Inertia Drive. Gain inertia to speed up and loose inertia to halt abruptly.

I wonder what this inertia is let alone how to modify and use it for Inter Galatic Traveling.

What are you using to speed up the inertia with? Likewise, to slow it down?

I can't wait for the time when the magnitude of another star will be greater than that of the sun from the point of view of Voyager I

(although I know I won't be around to see it). I still can't wait!!!!

    I still can't wait!!!!

yes your right you can't wait that long because your proberly going to be death by then.
Besides it proberly would take thousands of years before that happend and I see voyager somewhere in a museum back on earth long before that.

I dont know but i do know theres something that makes a object have unique inertia with reference to the universe.

JJM....Howdy....Hello....I'm just learning how to use sciforums. I posted a note in another site on the subject of net-ftl(non exhaust thrust-faster than light). Measure gravity and you will allow that what you are measuring to attract an object. Instead of the apple falling to the earth, let it fall to another place. m/m' is true, only let the m be mechanical, and the m' the natural state. The state of motion for 'gravity' is only one way in which 'gravity' is produced.

Why would you answer a thread from '07? At least you could make some sort of sense, I have no clue what you are trying to say.

After reading dozen or so posts to this thread, including the thread starter, I think this thread should be consigned to pseudo-science or the cess pool.

At best there is speculation & forlorn hope being expressed.

My apologies if there are some lucid/worthwhile posts which I did not read.

A posible first "baby step" - a permanent manned base on the moon now schedulest to strat in 2020 by Russians (probably with some help from India)

"... Russia delays moon missions: “Moon globe” to launch in 2017 not 2015 and land 100 Kg of equipment for astrophy studies, drilling into surface, etc. India will provide the “rover.” Tentative date for Rusians to return is 2020 and their task will be to start construcion on the permanent manned satation. ..."

From article in my local newspaper.

Well if Newt gets elected then we will have to consider that as an invasion of our 51 state.

I can't believe all the talk about different drives, where even at light speed it will take hundreds of years to get even to a near galaxy. phooey. If particles can communicate instantly at a quantum level, shirley we can disguise a space craft to act like a particle and be somewhere else instantly. I think the characteristics of space is the key and not the characteristics of matter.

We cannot disguise a space craft to act like a particle. And don't call me shirley.

    Shirley,

Surely we could disguise one to look like a really really BIG particle.

    Shirley,

It just takes a really really GOOD disguise to pull that act off.

I could not find the posts relating to returning precious metals to earth mined from asteroids where I called them scams as it is much more expensive to capture (or even just land on one) plus return transportation cost per kilogram than returning a kilogram from the near by essentially same solar orbit, moon.*

I noted that even if some material, say He3, were already packed and waiting for loading on the space craft for return to earth, it would be more costly than making or mining that material on Earth. The promoters of these scam now are switching to Space(travel) Fueling Stations, SFS as the "business plan." The SFS my make sense assuming many trips are made to recover the capital cost of the SFS.
*The moon's orbit about the sun is so little different from that of the Earth about the sun that if both are plotted accurately with any normally pointed pencil on standard 8 by 11 paper, only one ellipse is produced. I.e. the earth/ moon separation on that scale graph is less than the width of the pencil line! Yet just the fuel expense required to make round trip to the moon is huge. Think how much more would be required to change to the asteroid's orbit and then change back to that of the earth. ALL companies suggesting doing that are SCAMS.

Scams??? Gee, we have a lot of otherwise reputable people involved in these so called scams then....
The last I heard NASA was already in some sort of partnership with Planetary Resources.
Sure it will be difficult, sure it will be extremely dangerous, sure it will be expensive to start off with, but it is the future and will happen more sooner then later.
Why? The prime reason why is because it will continue the efforts of seeing what is needed, and what precautions need to take place to ensure the maximum safety of Astronauts, and achieving the greatest bang for our buck in progressing the efforts of space exploration and settlements of other worlds.
It's our destiny and I don't believe we are here to stagnate on this fart arse little blue orb.
