You have to understand that the term "universe" in science is of the object the universe, like an expanding rock in the infinite volume of space. The term universe is like saying galaxy, only on a larger scale. Do you understand what I am saying? A universe is an object like a ball is an object. The object the universe has been increasing in size for 13.5 billion years, like a tree would be increasing in size for 100 years.

I have been given no reason to be a realist about the big bang, so I have no reason to accept statements, such as the above, when they're presented as facts.
A quick search with Google appears to confirm my belief that there is no technical definition of "universe" peculiar to "science".

So you agree that a ball can exist as an object, and that an earth can exist as an object, and a galaxy can exist as an object, but have no reason to believe that a universe can exist as an object?

We are not used to being in a container. We look outwards, we think outwards. Multi-verse suggests.. container. Universe suggests... look outwards and see all that can be crossed. The atom is a container, and in a Multi-verse, the universe is a container.

You live IN a container called Earth. You live IN the earth. You are a component of earth.

Please explain how you concluded that from what I wrote.

You are saying that the universe is infinite. You are saying that the object that we refer to as the universe is infinite.

The universe is an object of mass. That object of mass has a finite (but expanding) volume, and it resides in an infinite volume of space. The object is not infinite in size, just like the object the ball is not infinite in size. The ball resides in space as does the universe reside in space.

You are confusing the infinite volume of space which contains objects of mass with the the single object the universe. Saying universe in science is saying object, it's not saying "all objects."

No, I have not said that.

    You said:

What do you mean by this statement? Are you implying the universe can be infinite?

There are none so blind as those who will not see. I have pointed to some of the greatest scientific minds in history, if you are truly interested, what they have shown is freely and easily available to all. I suggested you start learning something about reality by reading "A Breif History of Time", but you want it spoon fed to you as if all of your limbs are broken. I have also told you what they have said about the subject(as I have read and studied it over the years I taught Physics and Chemistry in High School). What I have said they said first. The Big Bang is supported by observation and the Theory of General Relativity(though Einstein did not think the Universe was expanding and had to introduce a fudge factor to keep it from collapsing in his theory). If you think differently your work is all ahead of you, good luck.

Exactly what I said, you live IN the earth.

You live inside the boundary of earth. You are a component of earth. You are a product of your environment. You do realize that the earth is more than just a terrestrial planet for you to stand on, don't you? You live within the outer boundary of earth, which contains gasses as well as dirt.

    Earth = soil.
    Earth's Atmosphere = gasses.

No, earth includes all its mass, which gasses are included. Like all objects in space, the core of the object is the most dense and the outer boundary is the least dense, generally speaking. It's a density order, and you live somewhere in the order, not outside the order.

I get a paradox from living inside, and outside the Earth, so something is wrong with the description.

You don't live outside the earth, you live inside the earth. You also live inside the solar system, and inside the galaxy, and inside the universe, and inside the multiverse etc, etc, at the same time.

You don't live inside the multi-verse, that's why it's a multi-verse. Ok.. let's suggest that you keep going North.. you get to a barrier.

I assume a multiverse has a core like a solar system has a sun, and that all the universes orbit the common core?

I don't know. I never scale up beyond a universe boundary.

Why, because that's the limit of our technology? What makes you think the upper scale is any different than the scales we can observe? The entire scale we observe is objects that orbit other more massive objects. This happens at every level of the scale. I'm here to tell you that it happens at levels that far exceed our abilities to view them, larger and smaller in scale.
