What shape would real spaceships tend to have?

    It's living space, and if the spacecraft is intended to carry a lot of people, a sphere (or less optimally a cylinder) gives you the most pressurizable area for the lowest cost. For unpressurized areas almost any shape will work.

    How do you aim an energy weapon when the vehicles are light-seconds or light-minutes apart?

    Of cos I know it's radio...still, radio don't travel faster than light..so unusable for a futuristic model..

    Makes come sense for mass people transport, though, i still feel the functionality usage of a sphere shape is pretty obstructive.. it ain't practical in many ways in terms of relocation of engines, science labs etc etc.. I think a Cylinder, though, may be more adequate..

    It may fall on the same technology as Warp, since these ships will travel at faster than light speeds, so may their weapon energy beams be made that way..

    Thanks for the site.. checked it out, looks interesting..
    Fictional technology?? It has to be fictional, since nothing we have invented at this moment comes close to future space ships, though, there has to be some possible scientific route from present day science to lead on to it..

    Now I can imagine the ship to look like a FLOWER..

    There is a world of difference between "fictional but based on extrapolation of what we know" and your tendency toward "fictional and utterly devoid of any basis in science".

    Basically there is no science in your Science-Fiction.
