    One of those 'sadist' songs.......

    I really don't have a good comeback for that.......

    Yes, I enjoyed him as well, did you ever see him live? His show was very good when he played where I saw him. To bad he died at an early age but at least we can still enjoy his music.

    I lived in Southern California back then and don't remember any Roy Orbison concerts in the area, but I may have been preoccupied with other concerns.

    Prime Obsession

    The abyss is Time with its sadness, its weariness. The birds are the opposite to Time;
    they are our desire for light, for stars, for rainbows, and for jubilant songs.

    In 1960 his birds decreased there association with prime numbers, and with the use of
    a portable tape recorder, he added more variants.

    Abyss of the Birds

    "Suicide is Painless" M*A*S*H theme song. It always gets me whether I understand the lyrics fully or not. It's such a hopeless song, for me anyway. Maybe it hurts more watching the docs and nurses busting butt to get to the wounded.

    I hope you are not offended that I take this liberty and insert a link with the song you name. This selection is from the movie, if I am not mistaken.

    No problem, that is from the movie, I visualize the series intro. But the clip is so typically M*A*S*H = laughing (irony, irreverence) through their tears and fears. Saddest funniest show ever IMO.

    That is a great song . People don't understand the red headed step child until they are one . I think it is a new Duran Duran song that captures it very well and if people open there closed ears they would no what the fuck is going down . The Future is hear and the Bell tolls . Can you hear the bell telling it like it is ?

    A beautiful melody, brilliantly performed, but one that I only associate with loss.

    Hmmm... Kind of a hard question to answer, but Save Me by Aimee Mann is pretty depressing.

    I hope you don't mind my posting this link to a live performance of that song.
