This country was created with the belief that as a people we can and would govern ourselves as a free and independent society of people. This is guaranteed to each of us by the Bill of Rights and outlined by the Constitution.
Our freedom was consumated in the blood of thousands of lives willingly sacrificed for a future of which many would not live to see. The nation they established was built on a foundation of democracy. The People governed the People with the understanding that a majority vote of our citizens determines who, what, and how this country is to be "ruled" And its common sense to me that if the Peoples majority vote is not ratified or the electoral college not follow suit with the People, or corporate interests are put before the common interest, than this is no less than treason against the Constitution and a violation of our trust. The way our Nation is now ruled by corporate lobbyists. We are ruled by the few and our middle class majority is the only power that can rise up and change it. But complacent, and comfortable in suburbia gives rise to indifference and that is what has allowed our country to be wittled to a country that thinks education needs to be cut and teachers should be held accountable for the decline of grades bringing us below the global average.
Education should be number one on the list of priorities and it should be the largest recipient of funding at all levels. Teachers should be given the wages and tools to teach effectively w/ smaller class sizes. Education is the key to a smarter and better workforce with new ideas for new solutions to todays and tomorrows challenges. If any public figure says that education should be the focus of cuts in funds they should NEVER be allowed to represent this nation or its interests because that is a complete moron that lacks foresight and has self interest and greed on the agenda. This must be a change that happens soon or this nation won't be bright enough to continue on. We will fall to wayside and fade away if we don't educate educate educate. And remove corporate control of politics

    1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.

    2. What one person receives without working for...another person must work for without receiving.

    3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
    4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

    5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because someone else is going to get what they worked for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation!
