Those are the two that I thought of! I don't have enough time to be effective however.

Heh, I mostly hang around in sci-fi and free thoughts - just a guy with a love of pursuits of the mind and body trying to make it through this crazy world

Don't tell him, don't tell him, don't te...

    Oh-oh, too late.

You can definitely NOT expect expect a visit late one night from creatures that are absolutely NOT giant bipedal lizards (the type, incidentally who are also not intent on controlling the world). This visit will, of course, not be anytime soon.

I didn't write this and you didn't read it.

I've got to say I don't think you will make a very good mod. You're far too confrontational to be objective.

James R, perhaps you might like to add a paragraph or two that lets people know just exactly what a moderator does: what is expected of them, what committment is required, and what it does not entail? Asking people to moderate without knowing quite what that entails could be courting with trouble.

Did we lose moderators recently? I couldn't play the role of a forum cop myself, but I'm sure there are a few sadists among us.

I have the lizard food all set and await their arrival - do they prefer the leather saddles or should we use the padded ones?

@ Topic - that's a good point - what, exactly, is expected of a moderator - I'd assume it's the usual keeping things in order, breaking up flame fights, helping to weed out spambots, et al? Plus of course being a good role model for your (sub)forum.

And not drinking more than your share of the champagne in the Mod's super-secret super-luxurious lounge.
AND remembering when it's your turn to provide the slaves (they get worn out very quickly).

I wouldn't mind trying out the moderator thing. Not that I think I have any special qualifications nor have I ever really been a great contributor to this forum. If I was to sign up, or volunteer, I would be interested in Moderating the religion sub forum. I have participated very little there but only because it doesn't seem to be the most popular sub forum here.

Ok then, the silence says it all. Just ignore me. I'm nothing. I could never be a moderator anyway, because I was never popular in highschool.

    NMSquirrel for God Mod.

we all need a good nut as Mod.

from here; (this is before the term Anti-Theist)<edited it to include anti-theist>

Religion and science have two different meanings when it comes to truth. In science truth is defined as that which can be measured and predicted.
religions truths are more subliminal than that, religions truths are what can be felt,(what cannot be measured)

I believe the religion forum can be of great benefit to believers and non-believers alike, there is so much information from religion (archeology, history, social etc)
i have been trying to encourage those who have studied to post the information they have (granted some do not know how to share this)

and i have been trying to discourage the hecklers<anti-theist> and encourage the questions that lead to posting of this knowledge base,

and no i will not support your belief that there is no God (thats your job), as i am a believer.

this is the reason i think that a believer would be best suited for the religion forum (granted, not just any believer), a non-believer<anti-theist> has a tendency to flavor their posts with anti-god mentality, this does not encourage cooperation, patience or understandings, hence the problems that happen in the religious forums,
I would not discourage atheist from posting their questions (reasonability assumed),as i believe the majority of believers are just parrots reciting what they have been told, IMO the questions from atheists (mostly) will get believers to 'think for themselves'.
    ----
I'm not here to 'settle' anything,i do not care whether you believe or not,
I will not force my beliefs on anyone.(but i will argue them..

I didn't nominate Sarkus. I just told him my opinion of him, in hopes that he might volunteer.

nothing to be defensive about. it is just that we have never listened to james when he asks us not to in shit like this

so... knock yourself out. nominate away. as you say, it will encourage the nominees to nominate themselves
