I don't. (Hence the "what if" and the wink).
But doesn't the original question also suppose there is some purpose?
Life is life: how can it be claimed that lives are lived in fear unless there's a way they "should" be lived?

It cannot be said (so far as I know) how a life "should" be lived, therefore any claim that they are lived in a particular way can only be an observation (correct or not).

In my experience life, like shit, just happens.

I have no idea what he meant by that.

I am certainly a person and at times, yes, I would say I was afraid at certain
aspects of living. I'm not afraid to admit that much

In other words challenge assumptions.

Around here butt loads of people are not afraid to live . Sometimes they die from there lack of fear . Skiers running into a tree . People falling off cliffs , Grizzly Bears eating em , Mountain lions eat em . All kinds of stuff . Drowning in the wild river boating . You name it . Adventure comes with risk . You may be afraid but you are living big time . We have a disproportionate of adventure seekers in Missoula . I would guess it is typical in your more wilderness areas of the United States . Thrill seeks . Yeah

Fear of pain would be one thing. If you read the posts above you will also see I have mentioned indecision as a possible symptom of living fear.

I note you haven't answered my question about those Rolling Stone lyrics.

Edit: is not pain a natural thing? A warning to not proceed any further?

 

Is it possible to live without pain? If it isn't then yes dealing with pain is part of living.

 

Pain is a small component of life. It does not constitute living.
Like you said, it's part of it.
Is minimising pain fear?
Should we ignore pain?
