    Back on-topic for a moment.

I use Firefox, and never use Ctrl-F. Why? Because I can just hit / and type what I want to search for.

    Why thank you, James.

I use Firefox as my preferred browser and so I now have another tool. While all of these things may seem redundant to those of you who may have an intimate understanding of computer software, I can assure you that in my observation, there are a lot of people yet who are not conversant in the genre.

Consider how many people were functionally illiterate prior to computers. Without good reading and comprehension skills, these persons will lag behind in their ability to maximize this potential.

Have computers improved literacy skills, or do these people navigate intuitively by use of other visual aids rather than language?

Ctrl + f is not just for browsers, though. There is more to computers than to go on the internet.

Everything one needs to teach oneself is widely available for free right here on the interwebs. Everyone is busy talking nonsense on facebook, though. No time to learn.
