No you are not living in a simulation, however I do believe we have Millions of alternative Universes.

All that existed, exists, or will exist. I wish I could find some way of justifying all thought as reality and leave any non sequitur for the future, but the universe doesn't work that way. Yet.
True. Objectively reality is the same. Subjectively, reality comes down accuracy of knowledge to objective reality.
Prey people step outside and still experience the world instead of sitting around on a computer all the time in virtual land.

Yes, but some of our thoughts are inherently virtual. Or are they?

So how do you know one of those millions of universes isn't a virtual one? How do you know this isn't the one?

We made virtual reality, how do you know some supreme being didn't make a virtual world to decide who his friends were.

    How would you know that?

I never really like this theory. Assuming that the universe works as simulation in the Matrix, it would still require the real, objective universe to generate this simulation universe (but I don't buy that this universe is simulated), but we're not digital, the example of this is human brain, intelligence and consciousness, nobody really knows from what consciousness is made how is created in the human brain, but it's definitely not digital.
If the universe is simulation than all we all are simulations, but than you should survive every time being killed in this giant video-game. Than you can shoot me in the head with a bullet, and you all can shoot me in the head with a bullet as well (since everything is a simulation).
I bet none would risk his own/her life to prove that universe and he/she/it are simulations. Tell that to those people in Africa who starve to death. Creators of this hypothesis truly live in their own artificial world, because they have access to everything they want: Food, water, sleep, there is no danger..., while those who are starving are facing death every day-yeah right, death of an individual person is simulation, yep sure it is...

Plus, why did everyone forget quantum mechanics which says universe is not deterministic on quantum level?

I was under the impression the universe IS digital-like. If you zoom in it pixelates. Aren't quanta more digital-like than analogue? Also, statistically, it's more likely.

The odds are 46 million to 1 that this life is real. Meaning that this IS a simulation.

But I still like to study this simulation, it seems to have some weird science in it. The big bang indeed! But why is the science messed up?

Maybe people who know the real science know how to make weapons so they hid real science, and decided to go with fake science? But you can still find the real facts in the simulation, but you have to figure out absolutely everything from scratch.

We all are. I created this all, you see, I also created myself so I can exist among you, I am your Lord and savior. Have faith in me and I can make it so you will never die, and only experience peace love and joy. will you follow?

Statistics means nothing, the same statistics which also says it is too impossible to get the jackpot, but people are still getting jackpot, despite the impossibility.
If you think universe is an simulation you can give me your house, your car your money in the bank everything, because it is you who is saying that everything is simulation. So starving to death is also an illusion?
    Why don't you try it?

That's the point, the quanta look like more digital than analogue, but that doesn't mean they are, that's how we see them, who knows how do they exactly look like?
Second, if quanta look like more like digital than like analogue, that doesn't mean they are either digital or analogue, but something else, otherwise human brain wouldn't be so plastic as everything else in the universe...

It's an illusion of starving to death, so what's going to be different?

Because after that you're dead. And death is not an simulation.
Why don't you starve to death to prove your point?

I am waiting till I'm 48. That's 2 days on Earth. 48 hours in Heaven. 1 hour = 1 year. Anyway in 2012 I'm 48, and I think the simulator ends then so I don't need to worry about it.

Planck length is too small and we will never have enough energy to probe it so we will never be able to tell if the world is analog or digital.

i find it interesting that no one has mentioned The Holographic Principle. if we are indeed in a computer simulation, this is proof of that.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle

"...In a larger and more speculative sense, the theory suggests that the entire universe can be seen as a two-dimensional information structure "painted" on the cosmological horizon, such that the three dimensions we observe are only an effective description at macroscopic scales and at low energies..."

Millions of people starve to death without simulation, another proof there is no simulation.

Lawrence Krauss in the book "The physics of Star Trek" was actually talking about hologram, there is a huge difference between hologram and real physical body. For once, hologram has no field at all, while your hand, your desk and etc... all have electrical/electromagnetic fields, it's electric fields that make you physical, while hologram/simulation has nothing the same with characters in any video-game.

    What people? Simulated people?

What physical body? If this is a simulated universe, then the physics are simulated too. You are just lying in a bed wearing a headset, and the Universe is simulated in your head.

You're the one who is saying that universe is a simulation, not me.

Sure, but if you kill yourself the death is not simulated at all. If the animal that eats you alive is a simulation you should be able to stop with your consciousness and the brain, however, you will still be eaten alive-that's not simulation, that's very painful death.
