No one would have heard about it.
I know. I was agreeing that we do seem to be leaving Iraq. I literally said that I haven't meant anyone deploying to or recently returned from Iraq in a while. Which says a lot considering I stay on a military installation.
Did I say that? I said it's possible that we haven't. And it definitely is possible. I've never been to the moon or met anyone who's been there. I can make video of me landing on mars and a number of foax studies relatively easily. I've done both before, I write for fun. You shouldn't assume that I've implied what does not logically follow from what I've said. I don't do that; I'm a sophist irl, and it opens more opportunities for someone to find flaws in my argument, which ruins my fun.

Wrong, Obama will be legendary for the killing of Osama, even if he didn't pull the trigger.

So then what is wrong? I don't doubt that. I do doubt that he had much, if anything to do with the actual operation at any stage.

No, he was only the Commander in Chief, the most important job of all.

Cowboy, the thing about trolls is that they don't have to be relevant.

Here's just one way I see it playing out.

    Initial troll:
Then there will be the flame and hate response. Which will fuel the troll.

Then there are several ways it can go.

    1. If another poster tries to say that Obama only could've done it with Bush's intel from his term and that Bush actually did most of the work then the original poster can bring up the whole water boarding scandal and Guantanamo.

    2. If another poster tries to call out the troll and say "stop feeding the troll". the original poster can merely dismiss him as trying to sweep the facts under the rug.

    3. If the troll is responded to with another poster saying that this doesn't end terrorism and that Obama has actually put more troops in danger then the troll's response is easy enough. The troll merely states that we wouldn't have had to put troops in danger if the Republicans (rather then saying "president Bush") hadn't declared war on an innocent nation in the first place. This is my personal favorite because it is very likely that some idiot will say "they're all terrorists" or some other racist statement which will completely annihilate any hopes of destroying the troll.

    4. The more difficult one would be the guy who replies with stating the Carter essentially is to blame for arming Bin Laden in the first place. Which, if it were me, I would say that it was due to Republican induced hysteria, from people like McCarthy, about communism that caused such a short sighted move.

I can literally think of a dozen or so directions a good troll could take this. I can even see how to take it from Bin Laden's death to social security in less then three posts from the troll. Because it is very easy to make the case (no matter how erroneous it may be) that most of the problems we have faced in the past decade or so has been caused by our declaration of war on terror and the second gulf war.

Just use your imagination Cowboy, think about how you can twist this incident into an even broader subject that will derail the thread?

So much money has been drained from other things that have gone to the war on terror that you can branch out to anything. A smart troller can make the claim that Columbia could have been averted had NASA had better funds to notice what happened in the first place, but instead that money was spent getting our soldiers killed in Iraq.

Remember, they don't need to be right nor inflammatory. A troll isn't looking to win an argument, just to make an utter fool out of everyone trying to disprove them.

The beauty of the troll is that:

    1. it's extremely inflammatory without being insulting (which is hard to see from most subtle trolls these days)

    2. It's very specific topic wise so it can go unnoticed as a troll, yet it can branch out into an extremely broad topic.

A troll is like a computer virus, once it gets accepted it is very hard to remove.

    3. Its broad enough that if it gets recognized as a troll because of the direction the conversation has taken then it can be revived in whole different direction. ie, rather then going with number 3 on the list go with number 2.

This thing is the perfect troll, it will be entirely relevant when the election comes around.

Just like they never heard about the botched Carter mission in Iran.

I have an extremely difficult time believing that a mission which involved sending a helicopters full of Navy SEALs into Pakistan without permission, in order to conduct a raid in their territory including a firefight, could have failed in any way that would not have been a massive media boondoggle.
