Yes. And watch all the self-proclaimed Christians applauding a death and telling us all how they hope it was a painful and prolonged death. And then listen to the same people talk about the evils of Islam.

And the flags? Where the hell did they get all those flags? I mean why do they have flags on hand for an impromptu celebration? Is there a flag seller who rushed to the scene along with the merry makers?

LOL, I overheard one of these megachurch preachers this morning on the TV at McDonald's telling his congregation that Islam is evil and we need an army of God to defeat them. I thought what a load of "crap" you are feeding your followers.

I hear you bro . Miss directed anger I think . There is a lot of pent up hostility these days , so we latch on to a victory of any kind . Americans have been waiting for this with anticipation for many years now . I think bitter sweet best describes my feelings . There will be more pain to come . WE are fighting a ghost if you ask Me .

I call that type of torture not bad enough. I would rather see them brought to the brink of death many times through such techniques as rats eating their flesh away.

Yes. I realize I sank to their level, but sometimes you have to do that and be as mean and ruthless as they are. Have you ever watched one of the executions they did and televised? If not, I have one of the videos that I can post the link to watch. It shows the sawing of Eugene Armstrong's head as he was conscious and then they hold it up and cheer.

    Notes Around

    A General Reflection

I switched back and forth between American (NBC News) and Canadian (CBC, The National) coverage, which I sometimes forget a lot of my American neighbors can't do.

It was an interesting contrast, though the differences were perhaps subtle; the Canadians were sooner to reflect on the fact of politics, the number of times the president used the word "I", and so on.

Perhaps it's tomorrow's election, but our northern neighbors were giving much consideration to both the political implications and the bounds of good taste, especially as they counted down to PM Harper's brief address.

But on both sides of the border, some analysis has been looking at the emotional significance. The Canadians really played up how badly we took it on the chin in 2001, and how important it was to morale to have actually accomplished this goal. Rachel Maddow, talking via telephone from Lafayette Park with Brian Williams, reflected on the age of the crowd gathering there—mostly younger twenties—and the fact that the whole of their adult life has been shadowed by the spectre of Osama bin Laden.

It's a hard thing to celebrate a death. It's a harder thing to celebrate a killing. Indeed, we can expect American pacifists, and perhaps some conservative opponents of the Obama administration, to vociferously remind that the president essentially ordered a hit.

And, to be sure, Neil MacDonald of The National asserted to host Wendy Mesley that despite what criticisms people might aim at American "imperial ambition", bin Laden was a war target, and this end was well within our right.

My own heart tugs at me tonight. This isn't an end point, but perhaps a new chapter. Still, though, nine years and seven months later—over thirty-five hundred days gone by—yes, we have reached this milestone. And it might well be set in blood, but be there a God to bless these United States, we might pray that, having felled this quarry, we might see tomorrow anew.

Yes, the spectre of Osama bin Laden has apparently been brought to its end. And, yes, the implications of how this war has passed its days are messy and will be long in sorting, but there is, in fact, a burden lifted from the hearts of Americans.

It is a small victory, but of nearly ineffable importance.

For a night, at least, we will celebrate, and remember how it feels to hope.

Yes, this is a common phrasing in American parlance.

To the other, the standing order has been dead or alive; I doubt there are many among my American neighbors who ever thought for a minute that if we brought in bin Laden, we would bring him in alive.

    • • •

Well, to the one, we're Americans, so we have a striking excess of flags laying around. To the other, if you're referring to the scene outside the White House, well, it is Washington, D.C. I couldn't give you an estimate of flags per capita, but if there's a college town around with more American flags than decency prescribes, it would be Washington.

Given that we have killed Bin Ladin and taken over his headquarters, I imagine we are also reaping a huge intelligence harvest from the Bin Ladin compound.

I imagine that terrorists around the world are smart enough to figure that out and will be running for deep cover in the days to come.

And a secondary question is if this stops being a war of vengeance, the one we wanted the blood of being dead, and starts to be a calculated matter of pest control.

I don't have to doubt it. The government tacitly admits it when the refuse to convene a grand jury to present their evidence. Before the smoldering ruins were cold and they had even gathered evidence the forces were mobilized silly. The FBI has never claimed that he was criminally culpable. There is not a shred of evidence that he is. If he were, why is it not listed among his dirty deeds. Anyone educated in these things knows there is nothing linking him to 9/11, and that he never claimed responsibility.

Whether or not the current puppet of TPTB was legally elected according to the constitution of the United States of America is irrelevant to the thread, stay on topic.

I think the lesson here is: Bend the Knee. Don't make the mistake of Osama, Saddam, Gaddafi...

It will be interesting to see the reaction of the ME and Muslims in general. What will the Imam's be saying the Mosques? Very interesting. I wonder what those people who were cheering on 9/11, so happy to see the USA get sucker punched, crapping on about the "Awakening". I wonder what they think now? They cheered on Saddam only too see him destroyed. They cheered on Gaddafi when he defied the USA. His country is now in ruins and he's barely in control. They cheered on the Taliban, only to see them decimated year in and year out. They cheered on Osama the most. He's now dead.

    What must they think?

That, maybe God loves the USA above all nations? Obama ended his speech with something like: And may God continue to Bless America. THAT must feel like a huge smack in the face to all those people who cheered on 9/11.
    Good

I personally think this is a political stunt, and the guy was dead long time ago. I would be interested in seeing the evidence for his death, and hopefully his body be given for independent investigation confirming the US story.

Although I am happy that a terrorist is no more (or has been for some time)- I am equally worried that like his life was a danger, the stupid Americans will cause his death to be a danger to themselves too. American foreign policy will produce more Osama's exponentially. He is but 1 man. With him have arisen way more. Celebrating his death may be emotionally satisifying but logically speaking you've gotten no where. You have succeeded in creating more terrorists in the world. You should be crying right now but unforutnately to have a 'sane American' is rare.

    Peace be unto you

This is really good news for Obama. Its just the kind of boost his presidency needed and the Republicans are not going to be able to take this win away from him so easily. The only down side is that there will be a reprisal and it might be heavy.

You really don't pay attention to anything but science, do you? They could replay this over and over again and you'd by what their selling, huh? But eh, then again, they are doing this game to the whole world, and they're all falling for it.

Look here, Bush knew, he didn't care. He kept the charade going. A bogey man is good to have. On the other hand, he didn't want to look to much like a fool, concerned about getting a dead guy. He's too much of a straight shooting honest Texan for that. It's what I liked about his presidency, he had a hard time lying, always did. Eventually, he'd slip up and let a little bit of the truth out.

Anyway. . . Here's that info you wanted. I wish I could get the original sources from the Pakistan Observer, but I see no reason to think why they should be lying. Our media is worse for that.

Now then, pay attention, quit being yanked around by the NWO. If they next decide to launch some false flag attacks or some financial meltdown this upcoming week, don't be surprised, capiche?

@ James - I believe myself to be Christian in the truest sense, though I do not feel Islam, or any other religion, to be evil. Sometimes misguided, but certainly not evil. However, I admit to hoping OBL suffered somewhat before he passed... some of my family friends were hurt (though thankfully none killed) in the attacks at New York City... and I could not put to words the utter terror that shook my young body as I watched Flight 93's projected flight path on TV. I live just two hours from where those brave people brought that craft down... I hesitate to think what would have happened should that plane have been aimed at, say, Three Mile Island... I can safely say I would not be here today.

So, yes, a part of me does wish a suffering upon Osama... but more than anything, I would like to think that upon his death, he was tried at the hand of God and found to be Guilty for all the incredible atrocities and terrible abominations against mankind he has wrought upon this world. I would like to think that God has a special punishment for people like Osama, who twist the minds of their countrymen, even children, so that they mindlessly take up arms against any enemy they don't even know...

None the less... I am glad that he is gone. One more rung on that ladder of evil has been removed... will we ever remove them all? Probably not... but I hope we never stop fighting such an organization until it is too weak to carry out any more missions of hatred.

@ The Esotericist - please tell me you have more sense in you than to believe that TRASH you just posted... I'll tell you what, if ever one of us gets to ask the Spec-Ops guys that were out there in the field about this, then we'll have the final word.

Why would you believe Faux news at all is more of my point... I don't take the word of any one news source at their say-so... I read/watch/listen to and research multiple news stations from multiple countries so that I can educate myself and make (what is hopefully) a more informed decision... and so far, that has lead me to believe that this is a genuine good day for the World at Large...

While everyone celebrates and has the whole 'rar rar rar' moment, remember this is closure for thousands of people, those who survived the attacks led by and inspired by bin Laden and the relatives and friends of those who died to those attacks.

It is unfortunate he was not able to be captured alive and tried for his crimes. But yeah.. closure is closure.
