this post proves, without a doubt, that you are a mentally dishonest. you always blame someone else for your own posts and claim that i always jump to unfounded conclusions when all i can go by is your posts and when i'm not doing that. then you have the nerve to say i am trolling.

this is how you excuse yourself or your posts from any negative feedback. this is very immature and intellectually dishonest. your whole post reeks of backpedaling, excusing yourself and projecting it onto another. you take no responsibility for what you say. nothing was taken out of context, labeling homeless as losers was clear enough and then you follow with another post that backs it up. when it was called out twice, then you decide to pretend you meant otherwise.

don't you dare cite any person's so-called emotional baggage as if that means the point is illegitimate. that's actually subversive and a troll tactic. as a matter of fact, you are the one who is trolling.

Birch you have a bad track record and not with just me and you don't take even the smallest criticism very well, as a matter of fact you always ignore it. I don't normally bring up a persons emotional baggage but I'm tired of you making assumptions about my intent that are way off base and if I tell you nicely that you are off base you just can't see it, so either you are very dense or you have emotional baggage that's adversely affecting your judgment or your a troll. So tell me which is it?

i find it somewhat hilarious that you are turning this around. you stated that homeless were losers and i told you my opinion on the matter which is that i don't consider the concept of a loser based on whether someone is homeless or not. it's you who has the problem and can't take any criticism. you didn't want to let that go either when i just stated my opinion.

i also find it hilarious that you think i'm stupid or it must be emotional baggage because i'm correctly assessing a point you made which was clear.

i've read your posts and they are nowhere near intelligent. you continually think in stereotypes which would be okay except they are erroneous. you have almost no insights for an adult. i think you can easily believe that i'm dense because i don't fit into the mainstream of things which further proves how stereotypical your judgement and values are as i said before as well as the posts on this thread have proven and the ones before. i've had to even correct you on the first topic where you couldn't conceive of those with a particular disorder as anything but drug users or assuming they are the fringe of society.

There is more than one way to be a black sheep.

I was also the first openly recovering drug addict. A good number of my cousins did drugs. I was the addict. So, I guess that makes three.

I do have various cousins who are in any stage of looserie, an elder brother who hasn't worked in years (and was a drug addict). A few who've conceived or sired children out of wedlock. It happens, just not so much as it has in me.

"Gay closet": 1998 (to my family; 1993 to my friends)
"Drug closet": 2002 (and recovery, the drug use started in 1997)
    "Atheist closet": 2007

[A note on dates: Some of these are estimates. I really don't remember]

Was I on a roll? No. Even in this place, I didn't really use the word "atheist" until about a year ago. I preferred the term "non religious" or "without religion" because I thought all atheists were militant. I just don't believe without proof. I'm still that way. I don't deny possibilities, but I don't believe in any god or heaven. I believe in a natural world with observable laws. Some call this "agnostic" but that doesn't fit, because agnostics say "I don't know, and take no stance." I say: "While I don't know for sure, I don't believe there's a god and believe it unlikely that there is a god."

I won't attack you for the "homeless loser" thing, 'cause I thought it was funny.

I already admitted to being a drug addict. Crystal Meth was numero uno. Then Blow, Special K, Ecstasy, GHB. Whatever. But it was the Meth that did me in. The other things were play things, but Meth made me into a raging addict who--HA, I just thought of this!!!--ended up HOMELESS (but only for a week).

Now. . . all I need is hitman. Can I be one like that guy in that badass movie of the same name? Plus I get to kill a bunch of corrupt Russians!

    the clown is an idiot.

because it's considered an acceptable stereotype to view homeless this way.

You just "name called" him. Kinda against the rules. Which is better than making fun of the homeless?

Because I think it's funny to make fun of any person or sistuation given the right context. I'm not some humor hypocrite who says one thing is okay while another is not. Niggers, Fags, Jews in death camps, Muslims, Poloks, Nips, Spicks, Children with cancer, AIDS, rape, Drunk Native Americans, Tourettes, the homeless, murder, atheists, 9/11, the Challenger Explosion, Sarah Palin, the various tsunamis, war, addiction, theists, bestiality. You name it, and I've laughed at it. Keep in mind a number of those things apply to me. I'm gay, I'm a recovering drug addict, all of my grandparents have died of cancer, my mother was killed in front of me in a car accident, I have a religious family and I'm an atheist, I've had friends die of AIDS, my best friend had non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (you'll never see a person with as sick a sense of humor as one who's dying of a debilitating disease) and I've pointed and laughed at Native Americans drinking rubbing alcohol out of a paper bag.

It doesn't offend me. People making fun of me doesn't offend me either. I'm a grown up with thick skin. People who get offended are often mental midgets. "Oooh, that sort of thing offends me." Which is not to say I can't operate with some decorum. I'm a frickin' HR manager, it's just that I also understand the reality of life: It sucks. Everybody on this planet gets fucked, so laughing at our miserable state is a form of coping mechanism and is WHOLLY appropriate.

I like the fact that you are so open about your problems. You even seem to acknowledge that you have been a loser, but that's not for you anymore and you are taking action to take better care of yourself and build a better life for yourself. There's not many that can make that type of comeback. I've bumped into a meth user or two and know it's not a very good world to make friends in.

Unless you are a bit of a sociopath I don't recommend being a hitman, plus there is a bit of competition amongst hitmen and they like to kill each other off.

I'm sure he wasnt using that context but okay who cares. If string could laugh at "fag" and "homeless" jokes I'm sure were taking things too seriously.

What ever gave you the idea I was making fun of homeless people?

Real recovering addicts--the kind who actually kick the habit--tend to be open about it. Recovery does that. It's a badge I wear with pride. Plus, if my openness can actually help a potential addict walk away from it before losing everything like I did. . . then there's no shame in it. At my work, I can't really discuss the "gay" thing or the "atheist" thing, it's just not appropriate (which is not to say that it never comes up on casual conversation). But, at various times while counseling employees, I have brought up my own struggles to make a relevant point.

When I got off drugs, I was certain I would NEVER be "normal" or do anything of value. There are a LOT of recovering drug addicts who have gone to the edge and back. I meet them all the time.

Joey we may not see eye to eye on a few things, but I can tell you have fun posting on this forum and I really like that about you. However with Birch, if you review her posts you just can't ever find any fun and that really gets hard to take after awhile.

May I ask how long you were on meth? Just wondering if you have any teeth left?

    LOL!

There is/was a member here, named Gendanken (who I adore to death. . . fucking bitch), who couldn't believe I had teeth left either. I sent her pics.

First, the "teeth loss" thing is greatly exaggerated, like the "flaming queer" thing is for gay people. The reason for the loss of teeth is dehydration overall and the drying of the mouth, which causes the gums to retract and the teeth to die.

I also had no skin sores. I didn't pick at myself, which actually was a rarity. My other fellow tweekers (I had three friends who I "partied" with), they couldn't keep their hands and nails off their skin. I tinkered with computers. I sold meth, and at the beginning at least, I made a butt-load of cash. So I would regularly go to the ASU junk sales place (can't remember where) and buy the university's old hardware and build stuff. It kept me busy and kept me from picking at myself.

I also drank TONS of water and have pretty good teeth (I just whitened them again, in fact).

Do you have some evidence in this regard?

Tweekers as a group tend not to take care of themselves. That fast food diet just doesn't cut it. I had a long conversation with a tweeker woman once, and she made a comment about tweekers to emphasize their character and I was wondering if you ever heard it?

She said a tweeker would steel your dope and then offer to help you look for it.

Just my own limited experience. When I was growing up I didn't talk about not believing in God because kids can be cruel to those who are different from them. To this day outside of this forum, I don't feel comfortable telling anyone I'm an atheist. So in a sense I'm in a closet and was just wondering if there were others like me out there.
