And, even more specifically, John99 hasn't got a f*cking clue.

I guess they do look like "greys". Seems to be the consensus. What i dont understand is how to tell male from female? Have we only seen the males?

You are going to have to describe it. Some will say it is off-topic though.

    Who?
Fictional aliens can look like anything.

    Whose consensus?

We haven't seen any. Male or female.

Not to mention the possibility of aquatic intelligence.

@John: Kind of like, oh, maybe dolphins?

Certainly an understandable ommission Dywyddyr - hard to keep accurate bearings in this shitstorm John is trying to brew up. :wallbang:

That's easy - talking about logic with you is futile. As in "I suppose it would be futile to point out that this logic leads to an optimum solution of four fingers, right? Or is it three? Hmmm... "

Some people say a lot of things...

I suspect this is going to be yet one more thread where John displays his overall ignorance by making ridiculous claims and then simply stops posting.
He's said many of the same things in a different thread, ages ago, where, to "support" his claim that aliens must look like us he's also claimed that of necessity any planet that gives rise to intelligent life must have had exactly the same history as Earth - right down to the dinosaur killer to prevent saurians staying top of the tree and to facilitate the rise of homo sapiens.

They don't have pickled onions for lunch.
They don't have a habit of eating pizza after a night out at the pub.
They don't have any singles in the top 100.
    What's your point here?

Do you thik grays eyes are probable?

What if you could see equally well at night as you can in the day? Can we hone this ability?

Gee, I wonder what would happen if dolphins had hands... Would you then "recognize" them as intelligent aliens, John?

    (84 F*CKING POSTS LATER) - Literally

Now you want to address my question? For real?

Not comparing to anything. Are those eyes possible\probable?

    No it wouldn't.

    Yeah. And unicorns are too.
Are you asking if very large eyes are possible? Why wouldn't they be?

We are discussing life forms that can travel through space.

Yes John, you can hone this ability - spend more time in the dark with the other mushrooms.

Apart from the fact that we are discussing alien life forms (intelligent ones) in general, how does adding "travel through space" preclude "dolphins with hands"?

    OK.

Do you suppose an intelligent lifeform similar in appearance to a dolphin with hands could learn to travel through space? (assuming such travel is physically possible at all)

    /very patiently awaits an answer
