You miss my point. Simply because a bunch of people say it's so, doesn't make it so. All the poll 'proves' is a measure of popularity... Really? Damn; I'm hard pressed to find half of the top 25 to be good... True enough.
i thought 127 hours, though an amazing story, was about an hour too long. winter's bone was really good.
catfish in black bean sauce http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do3rmukUHTA has anyone seen this movie? it's friggen hilarious
some lesser known gems: -Sin Nombre (I still don't believe it was fiction) -The Union (changed the way I view government- this documentary runs deeper than just cannabis) -City Island -Ben X (Belgian film about an autistic boy--- blew my mind) -Love Actually Top 3 well-known movies: Amelie The Patriot (verbally raped by critics, historians, and seemingly everyone--- but unquestionably my favorite movie) Good Will Hunting
Just finished "Ip Man". The story of "Yip" Man, Bruce Lee's Wing Chung instructor. Close - to - accurate portrayal of one of the most influential martial artists of all time. Great action, realistic plotline, and some very important moral and ethical points. My teenage son enjoyed it with me, liked it as well. I rank it 5 stars out of a possible 5 stars, despite that it is sub - titled. Dam good flick, historic importance, decent editing and screenplay, good acting for the most part. Some of the usual cornball Chinese Martial Arts cinematography to begin with, but very good overall.
you're right; my bad. apocalyptica is the name of a band i like. apocalyptico is the movie... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcXNzdN3kSc&feature=related
"Captain Blood" today, with Errol Flynn. Black and white, but incredible flick nonetheless. Errol and Olivia are just wonderful, and the epee' duel between Flynn and Rathbone is priceless. Back in the day when they did their own stunt work too.
My sister lent me The Boat That Rocked. I put off watching it for a while, but I'm glad I got round to it. Based, very loosely, on pirate radio and the government's attempted clamp down in the UK (1960s) it features Bill Nighy at his languid best: (Nighy) Quentin: Gentlemen, I have some good news and some bad news. Which would you prefer? Thick Kevin: Good news. Quentin: Okay. The good news is the engine has exploded and we're all going to die. Dave: Hello, Dr Dave, Radio Rock. How is that good news? Quentin: I haven't yet told you how we're going to die. That's the bad news. Simon: How are we gonna die? Quentin: We're going to drown in the freezing waters of the North Sea.
