Judging by these latest natural disasters, who knows if we as humans won't be extinct. I don't know about you guys, but I am scared when everyone is talking about the end of the world lately.
Meh, I think we're too adaptable to all die off...I'm sure there'll still be a few pathetic survivorsPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I agree Chimpkin and after that we will have gotten our spanking and realized how bad we were and not make the mistake again. Mother Earth is very angry at us. lol imagine if a intelligent alien race could read our conversations. We would be looked at like a extremely unintelligent species.
Ah, Deer do NOT kill 20,000 people per year, that would be roughly half the car fatalities in the US. Your article actually said 83, but that was a low year. The U.S. Department of Transportation estimates that deer kill around 130 each year, but it varies, in 1994, deer caused 211 deaths in car wrecks. Now as far as damage & injuries, there are about ~1.5 million deer/vehicle collisions annually, resulting in 29,000 injuries and more than $1 billion in damages. If you consider that deer also carry ticks that transmit Lyme disease to about 13,000 people each year and then the economic damage to agriculture and landscaping by deer you are over $2 billion a year. Truely mega pests. Globally the animal that kills the most though would have to be the mosquito. You left off the fractions that were less than one. In the US the figures also include (on average) Bear 0.5 Scorpion 0.5 Centipede 0.5 Alligator 0.3 Elephant 0.25 Wolf 0.1 As to the Horse, people are not exactly killed by Horses in the same way they are by these other animals, they usually just fall off. If you fall off the horse, aren't you supposed to get right back on it? I reckon it would take some straps and assistance at that point...
You can't stop it brother, your all going to die be mindfull of that. some of you will survive longer than others but it makes no difference. May god hasten the day and may time continue to speed up.
Really? Doesn't phase me in the slightest - really. The chances of anything monumental happening during our short time on this planet is nil. People have been talk about the end of the world for eons. The christians for instance have been continuosly saying it is right around the corner for 2000 years. Besides we are all going to die anyway, if we get to go with the whole planet - well that would be special, wouldn't it?
There are still some pieces capable of life... but that's irrelevant because our space ships go back in time the further out they travel so it's still there... well not anymore but it will be when the ship arrives in 30,000 light years.
Way to turn a joke into something serious. So your implying we completely screwed right now technologically speaking if the unspeakable happens.
Dying is dying and is natural and so are extinctions and I can't see anything special about it, anyway it happens. But if the worlds got to get wiped out while I'm still around I'd like to put my vote in for an asteroid strike, just far enough away so I could have a couple minutes to watch before kissing my ass goodbye.
Got to ask what is different about today's wood from trees vs trees of the past? Have you ever driven a nail into old 2x4's or those wood slats in the wall of old houses, they are super hard compared to now.Hell today's 2x4's and the rest split on you when hammering a nail or driving a wood screw.
