Motor... being IN motion and being MADE OF motion are two very different things (with the latter being... a slight bit impossible... how can you be made of a direction of travel? Think about that for a second)

James, You made statements and I confronted you on those statements that led to this point in the conversation. I stand by every one of my statements and I've explained quite clearly why your definitions are laughable.

Can you tell me exactly which object in this universe isn't in motion and comprised of motion?

The universe itself is motion, at every level. For example, at the galactic level, the core of the galaxy has a massive black hole ( which also consists of elements in motion) in motion. Some of the objects in motion around the black hole are solar systems. They are made of motion, which consists of planets orbiting a core (the Sun in our solar system), again, made of motion. At every level of observation, "objects" consist of motion. Every element in this universe is IN MOTION, period.

If you deny this fact, specifically name the element in our universe that isn't in motion, and that doesn't consist of elements in motion. At ANY level, specifically name the element.

Your definitions of states of matter are fine for every day use, but when called on your definitions on the reality of it all, you stumble and stutter. It's because you are repeating what you've been told, and never really questioned it or looked at it from different angles. You've accepted it as fact, when in reality it is rubbish!

The reality of the universe is that all objects are in motion and consist of motion. The reality is, when an object's elements are analyzed, they are made of elements in motion, and those elements are also in motion, etc, etc... There is no level which you can analyze that isn't in motion or it's elements in motion. Period!

Are you asking me which direction of travel a crankshaft in a NASCAR car is traveling when the engine is running and the car is spinning out of control going around the track, just before it hits the wall, all the while rotating with the Earth, orbiting the Sun, which is orbiting the galactic core?

You seem to not understand that motion can occur at various levels. If you pick an object, any object, its elements are in motion, period.

Why does everything have to be explained to you about 50 times before you start to cotton on?

I've already said that "in motion" is very different from "comprised of motion". Do you see any difference?

    I agree.

    I completely disagree.

    Not necessarily.

Pick a random individual electron in my body. Move to the rest frame of that electron. That electron is not in motion.

    Done.

Nothing you have said so far shows any flaw in what I've said.

This is a silly semantic argument, and until you understand the difference between something being "in motion" and being "made of motion", you'll never progress.

Yes I do. For instance, the Earth is IN MOTION around the Sun. The Earth is COMPRISED OF MOTION because all the elements that make up the Earth are in motion within the Earth. The water in the oceans, and lakes, and rivers is in motion. The Lava is in motion. The air is in motion. The leaves are in motion. Come to think of it, EVERYTHING that makes up the Earth, at EVERY level is in motion. Every atom, electron, molecule on and on and on. EVERY element of the Earth is in motion.

In order to understand how the Earth came from the Sun you must understand that mass evolves to space, and that every object is made of motion. When you do that you will be on your way to the truth.

Substance is comprised of motion, James. There is no magical "solid" substance that forms the basis for matter. Matter is motion, period!

    Talk about a silly statement.

Do you actually believe that because you pick a random electron that all other electrons are in motion, but not the one you picked. Has your cheese slid off your cracker??

So basically, on a timeline, all objects are in motion, and then you come along and pick an object, any object, and declare that object to be motionless, and that all other objects are in motion, but not your object. You are out there, Dude.

I mean, I still love you, but you need to do something about those ideas of yours. People will start talking.

That just means that the Earth is comprised of things that are in motion, not that the Earth is "made of motion". Apparently, you still don't see the difference.

Remember when I spent a few days carefully teaching you the basics of reference frames? No? Well go back and review those conversations for a start. Then re-read my previous post. In particular, note the specification of a reference frame in that post, and what that implies.

Yes, if all the other objects are, in fact, in motion. That's what choosing a reference frame is all about. Of course, as I sit here in my study, many things around me are not in motion relative to me or to the rest of the things in the room. The books on my shelf, my chair, my feet, the pen on the desk next to me, my monitor, the phone, etc. etc.
