joe, She doesn't have any jurisdiction over the State Assembly. Wisconsin Code 813, 813.025 Ex parte restraining orders. (1) No circuit or supplemental court commissioner may issue any injunction or order suspending or restraining the enforcement or execution of any statute of the state or of any order of an administrative officer, board, department, commission or other state agency purporting to be made pursuant to the statutes of the state. If so issued, the injunction or order shall be void. (2) The application for such an injunction or restraining order made to a court shall not be heard except upon notice to the attorney general and to such other persons as may be defendants in the action; but if the court is of the opinion that irreparable loss or damage will result to the applicant unless a temporary restraining order is granted, the court may grant such temporary restraining order at any time before such hearing and determination of the application for an interlocutory injunction. However, such temporary restraining order shall be effective only for 5 days unless extended after notice and hearing thereon, or upon written consent of the parties or their attorneys, and in no event shall such temporary restraining order remain in force beyond the time of the determination of the application for an interlocutory injunction. History: Sup. Ct. Order, 67 Wis.
Here is the problem with your arguement mr. roam. The court here is enforcing existing state statute, the open meetings law. It is not trying to void state law but rather to enforce state law. The Wisconsin senate has violated state law mr. roam. Much to your chagrin, Republicans are not immune from the law. They too must follow the law...at least for now.
yeah actually she is. just because you don't know what the hell your atalking about doesn't mean she isn't doing her job. yes and their is a suit being brought against the law based on those very things. which is why she issued a temprary retraining order until the suit is completed. unless of course your a republican than you can and you'd support it to the max. more lies and half truths. yes they lost because of corporate power and foriegners influencing are election but they are acting as a minority party should. stepping up when they feel the actions of the majoity party are egregious. actually to my knowledge they never voted. almost nothing you say is fact. No I'll call you a child and tell you the grow the fuck up as long as you act like a petulant 4 year old. really attacking someone mother I'm pretty sure that wasn't considered appropriate in elementry school let alone from some who claims to be 60 years old.
Nor did Democrats get the opportunity to vote, the Republican violation of state law prevented Democrats from voting. I think the clear message we are getting from people like mr. roam, Tom Delay and several other Republicans/Tea Partiers is that laws apply to the other guy, not Republicans/Tea Partiers.
Mr. pistol, you need to broaden your reading to include sources other than Democrat Union talking points. http://www.nbc15.com/home/headlines/UPDATE_Budget_Repair_Bill_Passes_Committee.html Continuing Coverage: Penalties Against Democratic Wis. Senators Undone UPDATE: Wisconsin's Democratic state senators will have votes they cast in committee counted and other penalties imposed against them will be rescinded after they returned to the state on Saturday.
Oh and just what Democrat/union talking points do I read mr. roam? I have news for you, I don't read partisan talking points. There is no news here. Republicans and Democrats in Wisconsin have been talking for some time now, for weeks and they have failed to come to a final agreement. There is nothing in your article that says they have come to an agreement because as of now they have not come to a reconcillation. Given Republican duplicity in this and other matters I think Democrats have good reason to be skeptical of anything coming from the Republican side of the fence. Additionally, there is nothing in the article you posted that mitigates the fact that Republicans in the Wisconsin Senate violated the state meetings law. I suggest you take some of your own advice mr. roam.
joe, you are nothing but partisan talking points, from beginning to end, Democratic Talking Points, Union Talking Points.
Well you see that sums it up doesn't it mr. roam. When you cannot make arguements supported with evidence and reason all you have left is to accuse others of being biased. Before you go accusing others of bias and repeating partisan talking points, I think you need to take a long serious look at yourself. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! You repeat Rebublican/Tea Party/limbaugh party line to the tee day in and day out. God forbid you should ever let reason and evidence replace repetition of the party mantra. Well the courts have spoken. The law does violate the state's open meeting law. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-wisconsin-unions-20110527,0,5729406.story It looks like Republicans will need to use their recently repurchased supremes.
