Guys, this is not real, if this is real, then EVERY SIDE got their asses kicked......I proved it before....we went over this before......in fact LAST YEAR, LAST SUMMER!

Fedr808, gravity is not a force, we went over this before. It is stress-energy tensors at work.

Also negative energy works, just to put that out there.....negative gravity doesn't necessarily need mass, all it need is again, stress-energy tensors to work in a certain way. NOW we know that negative matter PROBABLY doesn't work ( I can see how mathematically, but nada, just like quantum gravity, it is very beautiful mathematically but probably doesn't work at all ). Mass....depends what mass, if you meant resistance to acceleration type ( GODAMMIT, I FORGOT THE TERM! ), then yes there can be negative mass most likely.

Guys.....UNDERLINED HERE ( and bolded and in red so nobody can say I didn't say so, when I said so last summer ) Gravity is the result of stress-energy tensors, once you get that idea fixed in.....a lot of things work out.....

P.S. Believe.....try just looking at it conceptually and digitally at first, becomes easier. I find it became easier when I just got into it and started reading massively on it, it makes a lot of sense, don't ask me how it works, it did.....at least for me. Then again, I am young, don't have a lot of indoctrination in the old theories about atoms and gravity, and Newtonian physics, so it might be easier. A lot of good publications really makes a difference.....

P.P.S. Schodingers looked like gibberish to me at first, my dad showed me how to solve it, then it became......legible if you know what I mean.....

This is Science-FICTION, gone over this before again last year. Hope to not waste a other 10 pages on it.

    I am here to

    1. Same reason as Fedr808's second reason, it is extremely entertaining, you see it in high school all the time (I saw it when I snuck into the applied classes, no offense to anyone to took applied, just talking about at my school)

    2. I saw someone talk about physics, and I am like:

    I am IN DA GAME!

Love physics....but love genetics and pathology MORE!

True, but the fact is....we probably will be still learning until the day the universe ends, or we end, whichever comes first, and by then we probably STILL haven't learned everything. There will probably be a turning point eventually, where we stop scratching the surface, not now though.

No offense intended for anyone that WANT to continue on this.....if you are one of such, I suggest you start a thread: Physics in Science Fiction that are bullsh*t where we can list everything that doesn't make any sense at all.

I love dropping in on these threads late .. LOL
Seems RL is just too much sometimes.
    But SPACEBALLS seriously???
    Farscape???

The question was whose gonna win a fight right?

Did anyone start with some basic questions, or was it just jumped into based on fandom?

this thread has lasted over 1000 pages and several years, probably the single longest thread of its kind, ever. If not then at the least in the top ten list.

    I'll give you two guesses.

well Farscape had the wormhole weapon, a mass-destruction weapon that increases in size more and more until it had eaten EVERYTHING. stars, galaxies, it just can't be stop...unless your John Crichton or an Ancient (from Farscape, not Stargate)! if not, your death....

actually allthough they can't win I find Farscape still the best scifi-series. Firefly and Andromeda. way better than Voyager stargate or babylon 5.
DS 9 and TNG are the better ST-shows. But I saw every episode of Farscape at least two times hehe

kind of useless, its the kind of weapon an infant would use "if I can't have this galaxy then no one can!"

<In the pilot of Andromeda A novabomg has the same effect as Crichtons wormholeweapon and it can be stopped. I one episode they turn the same wormhole into a white hole.

problem is, what do you do when your enemy has no main base, take the nids for example. They are spread out over the entire dead zone between galaxies.

Sure, maybe, and I stress maybe you can find somewhere where there are a million ships.

Problem is when the tyranids attack your forces and overwhelm them, then you wormhole them and kill that entire attack fleet.

Then they do it to another planet and so you wormhole gun them again. Then it becomes a war of wills, how many tyranids are willing to die versus how many planets you can afford to lose before that worm hole gun no longer works.

The tyranids have never once shown any sign towards caring how many losses they take, the only time they so much as rethink their strategy is when they are themselves outnumbered, which has only ever happened once. And they still won.

well, yeah. that's the reason no one wanted in after they saw what it can do.

oh, and what would a nova bomb (they used 40 bombs by the way) do to a black hole like the one created by the wormhole weapon?

wel they don't actualy say they need 40 nova's that was just all Dylan had onboard. and because it wasn"t done before they hoped it was enough. they use a ripple effect. and eventually the white hole does fall back into itself turning back to a blackhole.
If you talking about size and don't realy know if the blackhole in Farscape is in fact smaller, equal or bigger than the one in Andromeda..
Maybe 40 novas could turn it into a whitehole forever maybe they would have no effect.

giving that they expected it to swallow the whole galaxy quite fast, 40 nova bombs aren't such a good idea if you care for your well being...probably really really bad!

No new posts.....well we can't let this antique thread die can we? Who wants to debate just for the hell of debating on the ( if not, then definitely one of ) the largest and long-lasting threads on sciforums? We gotta keep it alive!
