    You don't want psychological help.

You want the help of an uneducated person that shares your views of spirituality etc... You will not find this in an educated research based psychologist.

    Sorry I can't help.

Best of luck with your million dollar book...

Afraid? Of another mind... that would be psychologically impossible... unless you are just pushing foreword doubt in order to drive the individual.

    answers..

i would let you argue that this is not scientific..sometimes i can see it...
don't let that stop you from these discussions..they have been educating and stimulating.

what i want to add is in your current vocation..(suicide prevention) i would think you can see what i am talking about as far as 'worthlessness' i believe all suicides can be boiled down to their feelings of worth, IE they feel worthless, not able to contribute anything..(i am using the word 'all' in an attempt to provoke your thoughts of what doesn't constitute all)

so you don't agree with the spiritual aspect..what about the others?

I don't agree with your whole approach. You haven't done your research. You're not taking a scientific approach. I think that because of these things it is absolutely worthless and not worth wasting my time on.

I know I'm being harsh, but seriously the way you are approaching this is just wrong.

By the way suicide is not because of worthlessness.

It can all be boiled down to an individual not being psychologically equipped to deal with the circumstances in their life.

This involves a lot more than just self-esteem.

    your allowed that..
    as i stated..these are observations..
    im not a scientist..
    i do appreciate your input..(choice of wording?..'worthless'?)
    accepted.
    how would you?

didn't you say simple is the best answer?

    "i do appreciate your input..(choice of wording?..'worthless'?)"

You sound like one of those desperate christians that latch on when you say something like "For Christ's sake what is wrong with you" and they'll respond "oh so you believe in Christ!".

As for keeping the description simple, it was kept simple. It obeys the laws of nature just like your description. It was short just like your description. However the difference was that it was more accurate. More accurate doesn't mean less parsimonious.

How would I approach this topic of yours? I would do a literature review and learn about it first. I've already told you that, and you didn't do it. So now you are wasting my time and you are going to end up writting some pretty stupid stuff.

By the way parsimony is a general rule, there are exceptions.

yes you have..and i still want to do that..other than what you have suggested one book which i still am interested in..there is the information overlaod aspect that i am hesitant about..IOW way too many books out there for me to analyze, being i am not an expert of determining which is valid or not..

and it sounds like i said something to you that you are at odds with.. i think it is my belief in god that you are against..although i have tried to keep god out of this..there is some roots there..

Its called anger and it usually comes from not understanding... or an improper lack in communication at a base level of two differences. Often it is not communicable in simple words.

Where did you come up with that? Anger a result of mis-communication? :bugeye:

    I haven't heard that before.

Simply put, anger is often a response to hurt or frustration.

Not simply put: Anger involves a response in the sympathetic nervous system which initiates a fight or flight response. A fight response to a perceived threat would come in the form of anger. Anger is likely to involve a fast heart rate (above 120bpm) and the release of adrenalin, etc... In the heat of anger it is not possible to have a cold/logical state of cognition, rather you operate according to hot/emotional cognition. This is why in anger management it is recommended that a patient take a timeout for 30 mins while not thinking about the thing that initiated the anger, in order to allow the heart rate to slow down so that the adrenalin also stops. At this point individuals are able to look at the issue with a cold cog perspective and find a solution that would have been impossible to find otherwise.

You don't even really want to analyse books. You want to analyse journal articles (much more up to date). To do this you need about 4 years training with statistics, and a very good knowledge of potential confounds and problems with generalizability and sensitivity. Otherwise you won't know if the results that are reported are 'real' or just confounded with another variable, etc.... Or you won't know if there were problems with ceiling effects or floor effects or if there were factors influencing the generalizability of the study such as experimental settings or expectancy effects, etc... Furthermore you need to make sure that the measurements were sensitive enough to detect an effect and there wasn't too much error in the data for statistical analysis to find a significant amount of variance according to the independent variables in relation to the dependent variables.

See this is why I said you need to become a psychologist before attempting to contribute to the field.

True... But why would someone be frustrated in a instance of words considering the above?

    Little miss communication:bawl: LOL

    Lol I totally disagree.

I think it's entirely possible and actually the case the majority of times, that people get angry even when they completely understand what the other person is saying and they have crystal clear communication.

If you disagree then I recommend you try doing some marital therapy.

    LOL LOL LOL

The person I almost married in my teens was pure evil. This is not the time for me to have any say over When I and Her are in the same room.

I agree with your statement, but question what led you to say no to another's ideas?

Moose is the name psychology is the game. But don't be lured by my banter, It is only a little canter.

    (canter (v.)
1706, from a contraction of Canterbury gallop (1630s), "easy pace at which pilgrims rode to Canterbury" )(ETYMOLOGY)
