It's a canon. It's supposed to be repeated, in variations. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

It wears off It wears off after a while. I was similarly enchanted by the song some years ago, but it went through one of its periodic popular modes in which it could be heard everywhere, from elevators to music boxes to movies and even television commercials. It's excellent rudimentary music for practicing piano. Just arpeggiate and improvise at will. Also, try Brian Eno's Discreet Music, which contains three variations on the Canon.
It's a fine piece of music. I'm not generally fond of anything before the Impressionists, but I like it.
As I said, sounds like a funeral for someone, the husband probably! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Snobs like Beethoven and Mozart. They think nothing will ever compare to Bach. My favorite "classical" pieces are "The Lark Ascending" by Vaughan Williams, "Metamorphoses" by (Richard) Strauss, "Scheherezade" and "Bolero." All 20th century (or almost). Snobs think I'm a hopeless modernist. So far I've managed to see three of them performed live by dynamite orchestras. Oddly enough the one remaining is "Bolero."
Hey, Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach are all amazing Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7LWANJFHEs
The left hand in Canon repeats a specific combination of several notes, whilst the right hand is slightly more adventageous. Canon is good, La Campanella in my personal opinion is better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9BzuW-UQDc From the word meaning ''little bells.''
