I know. He bludgeoned baby seals. To save America. To right the wrongs.

The whole thing reminds me a bit of a Beavis and Butthead episode with Beavis playing with a lighter and stating "Burn!.... Burn!...... Burn!....." and of course Butthead responding with "Shutup Dumbass!"

Burning one religions "book" is useless, if you are going to burn books of a one Religious order you might as well burn all books by any religious order (This doesn't of course mean you should burn Starwars or Startrek books, although some might see scifi as a religion... it's not)

    Well I'll be a lizard's concubine!

I suppose I am not alone, when I suspect that some of these "fanatics" actually just have orgasms everytime the slightest perceived insult is made. They jizz their panties every opportunity to set the infidel straight.

I'd name it Ayisha. They'd probably stampede each other in an effort to get into the place.

I think that most fanatics are like that, though. They live to be outraged by something, make a scene and, in some cases, punish the offenders.

The problem is with the people who bend over backwards to accommodate these fanatics.

But wouldn't it lose it's appeal after it was six years old?

First the outrage, then the bullying, then victim status, finally protected minority.

That's exactly why I thought Imam Rauf's prophesying about the threat from fanatics if the mosque was moved was a little ominous. I'm guessing that he secretly likes that position of power.
AND I must remind that he works for the CFR. Which makes me all the more suspicious of intentions.

That's simple. Change it back to Mecca.

If you're lucky, they'll burn it down, and you collect a handsome insurance payout!

    nice!

also there is a line of clothing, a town in indiana, cultural mecca.....

A place can be described as a "Mecca for aficionados of greyhound racing", a "horticultural Mecca", "a sporting Mecca", whatever you will. A "cultural Mecca" is just one option among many.(VSD)

It was because of this widespread use of Mecca that the Saudis changed their English spelling to Mekka some years ago (briggs)

I had no idea Bubbles was a Republican. Probably explains the falling out he had with Michael before the end.

The tensions were always there or not, that's still your opinion only. You should mention both sides of a story in light of discussion to just not look biased.

An insult is an action that requires the intention of being offensive and a situation.

1400 years of religious law and societal suppression suggests those tensions have existed for a long, long time.

Yes, granted, there were tensions. Yours truly magnified underlying tensions (the exact nature of which is for another thread) into a Hollywood blockbuster. He was gonna git Bin Laden dead or alive. Since then, from the US perspective, every Muslim has been typecast as a terrorist, and Islam as an evil. Which ultimately leads to idiots like Jones perfecting the art of ignorance. :m:
