More South African to be honest.

    No. It's "maayyte!".

Their kids shows are brilliant. I will grant them that. The Total Drama series is hilarious (I am still laughing at the 'Falling in Lourve' episode and the song of the challenge)! Thankfully my children are too little to understand half of the humour in there.

Like "Total Drama Island" the fake reality cartoon show thing?

    Yeah.

    Funny stuff.

Not "Superjail" good, but good nonetheless.

I find it funny. The World Tour series is very well done.

As I said, my kids just laugh at the slap-stick, but don't quite get the rest of the humour..

I was going for the stereotype we use here Up Over. I have a student from Perth whose accent is just nice proper English that I would honestly have a very hard time placing if I didn't know where she was from.

We prefer: color, labor, program, humans.

You prefer: colour, labour, programme, sheep.

I actually distinguish program (computers, plan of action) from programme (tv show, theatre brochure thingy), but maybe that's just me, and maybe I'm just wrong.

    That actually sounds reasonable.

I think "plan of action" still falls in that zone ("programme"). Not computers though.

A computer program is a plan of action for a computer.

Oh dear! I've been keeping my nose out of this thread because it went west and tragic at once, now we're talking about AmericaniZed spelling.
O.K, I can't bite my tongue any longer.

The spelling is just about bearable but the fucking Pronunciations (pronOUnciations) are just too fucking much.

I mean , where do we start??
    Orr egg anno - oregano
EEEErrrbss - Herbs, just fucking herbs alright?
Bay zill - Basil you know like bazzle don't even try to say it right in your head 'cos your lips will be doing gymnastic contortionisms and opening as if you're about to swallow an EEMOO egg (that's emu you great Canada geese{even if you are bladdy seppoes}).
what else?? Gee that's a tricky question, Buddha, anyone wanna have a crack at that?...no, no, not BOOOOO Darrr, just Bhudda, you know like everybody else in the world says it, try listening and replicating.
    Reckernize?
    Sime Ull TANE ius
    nookular
Aloominum,...what's wrong with that?? It's fucking element, you know, pure form, you can't just drop a vowel because it's too hard.
    Pooma, Jagwah, mobil (mobile)

Oh, and names, Colin is Colin not Colon (as in Powell) the poor bastard, trying to keep up a semblance of dignity while his own people refer to him as a shit filled lower intestine.
Dubya ( talk about your shit filled junior anal canal)....DOUBLE-U.

    I could go on....

Indeed. Bill Bryson explains how it's the Brits who's vernacular and accent has shifted far more than the Americans since independence. Just that the Brits expected us to change with them.
