    You need to go back and reread some posts. Whether you know it or not, you are avoiding the fact that norse's *first* ban (you do know he was banned by James before you, right?) took place ~2 hours after his "hate speech," before he could have a realistic chance of providing evidence for what might have been a rational opinion. As far he might have known, no one asked him for it because by the time he logged back on, he was already banned. His frustration and anger from that point onward is quite natural. You punishing him for it is not natural, however.

    Okay. To clear up your confusion.

    I banned Norse for his claims in this thread when he repeated the same thing that had resulted in his original ban. I asked him to provide proof of his claims and gave him 12 hours to do so. He failed to do so. So after more than 12 hours passed, I banned him.

    Do you understand now?

    Actually no. I tend to become sarcastic when I have to restrain myself from calling someone stupid. I mean I can either come out and call you and what you said stupid (and breach the rules of this site). Or I can respond with sarcasm to give you an indication of just how stupid what you said actually was. It is a fault of mine, but I developed it in my work as most judges find it offensive when counsel refer to defendants as 'stupid' (for example: 'I raped the 2 year old because she sat on my lap and was asking for it'.. I could call the individual 'stupid' or I can respond with sarcasm about his perception that a 2 year old would actually ask for sex when cuddling up to her father as most toddlers do).

    But for the fact that norse was originally banned on the spot by James R, without asking norse for evidence, this thread would not exist and norse would have received no further bannings. Norse's frustration and stubborness was natural, given his initial treatment. Your response to his frustration was not natural, however.

    I said this to you already, but I know, it's hard.

    More probably, you become sarcastic when you realize that you had just done something stupid. Like you did in this thread.

    Norse was frustrated because he was actually expected to back up his claims. How horrible for him. To actually be expected to substantiate his claims..

    I am sorry Willnever, but this forum has particular rules. He was banned immediately the first time for breaking those rules and when he broke the rules again by repeating the very thing that got him banned, but then refused to back up those statements with evidence.


    Will, I was not the one getting confused about who banned who. You were. James banned him immediately the first time for anti-semitism in accordance to the rules. I banned him a second time when he repeated the very same thing and was unable to substantiate his claims. Again, in accordance to the rules.


    Now cherie, I don't think I have done something stupid. I am sure that if it was stupid to begin with, my fellow moderators would have stepped in by now and asked me to not ban him. None of them have.

    I provided links for them when I issued the original warning, as well as when I issued the ban. I am sure if they think my actions was stupid, they will rush to this thread and defend Norse and they are free to do so. I will continue to stand by my decision however. You are free to PM Plazma with your complaint. And as I stated before, he will read through the original thread and what was said in this thread and determine if I acted stupidly in banning him for 10 days (less than what he actually should have gotten in the ban cycle). So please, for the love of the FSM, PM Plazma and report me if you feel that I banned him unfairly.

    I didn't read the rest of your post beyond this point because we can stop right here. Norse were not asked for evidence in a reasonable amount of time before he were*first* banned. It were only 2 hours.

    He was not asked the first time because there was notrequirement for him to be asked. You know, because he was being anti-semitic which is against this forum's rules. When he returned and spouted the same thing, I asked him to substantiate his claims or face a ban. He returned and claimed it as fact. So I asked him to provide proof for his 'facts'. He refused and after more than the allotted time went by, he was banned.

    Honestly, how hard is that to understand?

    The claims were not inherently anti-semitic *except* if he refused to provide evidence after he were asked the first time. Before he were *first* banned, Norse were not asked by a moderator to back up his claim.

    The ban was a pavlovian knee-jerk reaction to perceived criticism of an overly protected ethnic group. If it were "Americans" as an ethnic group that Norse criticized, then he would not have been banned -- simply because there exists no "anti-semitic" type concept for that. That fact alone reveals the sheer hypocrisy of it all.

    I question if you know what a semite actually is. It does not mean "jews." Semitism is merely a language pattern. It's becoming increasingly obvious that I am talking to uneducated people. "Oops, I'm a retard" would be an appropriate response for you right now.
