Well I've enjoyed it, maybe not the best World Cup ever but I had a great time watching. I guess the best team won in the end, but the underdog loving fool in me wanted to see the Dutch triumphant. Roll on Brazil 2014. I hope England host in 2018 then I might get to see a live match.
Actually I stated that America couldn't be as good as Spain, implying that Spain was the much better team to beat.
Congratulations to the people of Spain. Football, as I witnessed it today, is a stupid sport. Were those REAL MEN out there playing today?
Sorry, I don't intend to troll. (Maybe I'm guilty of posting off topic). Watching the match next to me was my 5 year old, who is in a soccer league and loves to play the game. I thought him watching it would inspire and motivate him even more. But I faced questions like "Dad, why is that player in pain when he didn't even get hit?" WHat was I supposed to answer him? These are the best players in the world.
LOL! Are you sure you didn't have the teams mixed up? The Netherlands were the ones playing in orange...
Oh well, congrats to Spain I guess. Still, that goal was undeserved. It was off-side and it should have been a corner kick for us just before that. And that referee.. are you fucking kidding me? Anyway, we really did it to ourselves. We had the chance to win but failed to score.
Uhm. Yeah. I agree. What does that have to do with my statement. Anyway, it was one of he worst matches I've ever seen. All those penalties. All those dives & drama. Germany/Uraguay was much better. The goalkeepers played very well today (although a little lucky).
Yes, I did and it definitely was off-side the first time he got the ball. And besides, if the referee had given us a corner kick just seconds before that, like he should have done (only a blind man could miss the ball being touched by a player of Spain), the situation would have never arisen. And he was waving yellow cards left and right like there was no tomorrow, and most of them not deserved, while Spain got away with most of their fouls. Spain, fucking divers.
What game were you watching? Just because your team complained doesn't make it so, he was miles onside when the ball was played. :bugeye: But yes, the ref was terrible and lost control very early on, the Dutch should have been playing with 9 men or less for most of the game and Spain were lucky not to lose a player nearer the end. The Dutch just constantly fouled all game, and to be fair rolled around as much as the Spanish when they had the chance. Bit disappointed because they had the skill to make that a really interesting game but decided to act like bullys. Very boring game, but as the commentators said a victory for football in the end.
Um, the spanish were diving constantly and then asking the ref for a card. Now that's shameful. It was off-side because Iniesta was in active play the first time he got the ball. The linesman should have flagged it off. But worst of all, the off-side situation shouldn't have arisen in the first place because The Netherlands deserved to get a corner kick when the free kick was deflected by a spanish player just seconds before the goal. Both sides played filthy and I think the Spanish were slightly better, but that doesn't change the fact that that goal shouldn't have happened.
