Excuse me? I didn't even know you had one until now. Apparently, it's Dwy...but how exactly is my suspicion directed at him? You can't simply go around saying "moderators", because it doesn't involve Dwy in any way. The only issue was yourself, and if suspicion is sufficient cause for a report, fire away. I suppose I could be as guilty as anyone on the forums.

I have already contacted the administration; I'll be following this up shortly. Presumably, if you're right, I'll be kicked off, and you can be happy having really misrepresented me and got off scot-free. I don't see how you could object to that. Maybe you're completely in the right.

In general I don't defend or attack, I merely apply the rules that each claims to uphold as their own principles and participate in the discussion under that aegis. For some reason atheists on this forum are not as faithful to their own ideology/principles as the religious. As for assigning subjective values of lesser and greater fundamentalism, that is entirely relative and depends on what I/you consider to be the "right way" to think. I generally pick a position and stand by it with the understanding that its a discussion of the ideology and not of the person professing it. I may have personal opinions of the ideology itself or of the person professing it, in which case I generally add the disclaimer "In my opinion..." to separate it from the general discussion. I do not believe that there are any people here with whom I have discussed their ideological leanings who have acted them out in any manner that may be considered extreme [some people might make an exception for sandy, but as we communicate both privately with each other as well as on the forums, I am fairly confident of my conclusions regarding her extremism]

 

Well, Bells, I've thought it over, and am trying to reach a solution of some kind here. I tell you what: if you feel that I've been too hard on you, and that I've geniunely and unfairly impugned your moderacy, then I apologize.

Now: will you do the same for the allegations you've leveled against me? These are infinitely more serious, as they represent the real world, and not an internet forum.

 

In my opinion, Geoff needs to read all his posts and figure out what he actually means before telling anyone else what he means.

On that part, we can agree. The problem is that you're taking cases of abuse by outsiders and applying it as some kind of 'explanatory variable' for Jewish auto-segregation. These things are unconnected; moreover, as your initial thesis was that Jewish segregation in the ME was due to their own supposed notions of superiority, you undermined your own thesis by considering it a European phenomenon. And you call me reactionary.

In my opinion - you pick up these issues based on your own preconceptions, then draw in weak evidence without reading it more fully, and missing details that would be inimical to your case. In my opinion, when these arguments fail against an experienced reader, you damn the reader, or change the topic.

 

Read very carefully - its in English:

There is only so much ignorance that is palatable however. The topic of European Orthodox Jewry self segregation has nothing to do with the mellah of Marrakesh. The topic of auto segregation does but not in the way you comprehend:
