If contiguous, fertile, resourceful land 4X the size of Israel with open access to international waters and trade, and with defensible borders, were offered to the Jews in exchange for Israel, with international control over the historical heritage sites in Israel so that they are still protected and accessible to any Jew, I would call it a bargain. But since none of the conquered peoples ever said it was ok for the Muslims to invade them in the first place, it needs to go even further back than the Geneva Conventions IMO.

Just to be clear, you are aware the UN's "call" for Israel to accept Palestinian refugees in 1949 means, in legal terms, "a suggestion", right? When it's legally enforcable, that's when the UN says "we demand that..."

Who are the conquered peoples? Which first nations are we talking about?

I too am agreeable to "fertile, resourceful land 4X the size of Israel " blah blah being given to Jews by those who were inclined to the holocaust. Europe is a big place.

The Geneva conventions were written after the world wars in neither of which Muslims were the aggressive party. But if you feel for the aboriginals of Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Spain etc. I am sure we can accord much more than first nation status to them seeing as they make up over 90% of the population

Just to be clearer, the UN has no jurisdiction to call or demand - especially to non-member states. Correct?

No sweetheart, I'm talking about lands the Muslims stole from Jews and others well after Geneva, like those they forcefully confiscated from the Mizrahi refugees. Land deals with Europe are another subject altogether. Perhaps Europe and Israel can negotiate on partitioning Constantinople and the rest of the Turkish-occupied European lands.

Its understood that they too should have right of return. Arab Jews have no less rights than Arab Muslims or Arab Christians to their own homeland. First nation status et al. How many Mizrahi Jews are there?

Given that they make up the bulk of Israel, there must be at least 4 million of them. Yes right of return should be given, but since they also have the right to contiguous, defensible territories, it can't be the exact same land that was taken away 60 years ago. There needs to be some adjustment in borders and such, also we must account for the eventual reconstitution of Kurdistan out of lands from Iran, Iraq and Turkey, so it can't come out of Kurdish land either.

They make up the BULK of Israel? More Mizrahi than Ashkenazim or Sephardim?

Where did you get this information?

I read that something like 66% of Israeli Jews have at least one Mizrahi parent or grandparent. Do you have sources saying otherwise?

I'd like to see your source.

According to the Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics:

It would seem that less than 10% are Arab/Asian/African olim [which includes descendents of Sephardic Jews expelled from Spain in 1492] and less than a quarter of all Israelis are Arab Mizrahi

I'll get back to you on that, but right now I must pay homage to the national rituals of my native homeland... :m::m::m:

funny how when it comes to saying the palestinains have rights UN decrees are suggestions yet when it comes to the partitian(the only thing that could give Israel a shred of legiatimacy) UN decrees are treated as sacred.

No, that's how it works in the UN, and the words were very carefully chosen for that reason. Resolutions "calling" on member nations to do something are not legally binding resolutions with consequences for not complying. It's the same thing when they "urge" someone to do something, they're trying to make a moral suggestion. "Demand" or "insist" are ways of implying serious consequences for not complying.

Of course a one-state solution in which the Muslims and Jews live together in a peaceful democracy is the ultimate and most desirable solution, its just the whole peaceful part the seems impossible to achieve, what with the Palestinians occasionally dismembering Israelis and bathing in the blood while thanking god and the Israelis becoming ironically nazi as they pounder the 'final solution' for the Palestinians. All in all I think absorption of the west bank and it population as fully recognized Israeli citizens in a great idea, at the very least it will reduce the power of the Israeli right-wing which in my book is a good thing! Gaza could be left to be as it own state and the radicals sent there where they can cause less damage and be pounded with artillery fire easily when they need to be kept suppressed, the more moderate Palestinians can live in Israel as Israelis, fuck this is a great idea! If the west bank was absorbed it Jews would still have a majority with 63-57% of the population and Palestinians would not live like rodents, everyone wins!

Hehehehe... That would be a pretty convenient deal for Israel. They've also been working on automated machine defenses for the Gaza border too.

But in reality I don't think the West Bank Palestinians would accept a split with Gaza.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if the West Bankers eventually got tired of dealing with all the crap that comes out of Gaza. Gaza is really a miserable piece of dirt.

I'm sympathetic with Fatah and other pragmatic-minded organizations, but I think the US should just go ahead and march into Gaza Strip, round up those Hamas dogs, and finally draw the curtain on this whole sad issue.

Let me be clear on this, once again: Fatah, not Hamas. Kadima or Labor, not Likud or Yisrael Beiteinu. Let Israel and West Bank and Gaza be led by people who behave like human beings. The others? Chain the fools together, wherever they are from, and throw them into the deepest, darkest trench in the ocean.

I know what we can do. Let's round up all of the Hamas fools, and let's round up all of Yisrael Beiteinu. Arm them with spoons, and tell them to either kill each other off or resolve their differences. Either would be a desirable outcome.

    Alien Cockroach,

Yeaaaaahhh that will happen, and jesus will come back as well. Lets be realistic a one-state solution assimilating the west bank is practical, ultimately with all the settlements Israel might be forced to assimilate the west bank.

As for the West Bank Palestinians would actually be able to get to and from Gaza much more easily without the checkpoints and with freedom to travel across Israel, even if Israel closes all roads to Gaza they could easily just go through Egypt.

Killing off Hamas is practical. Feed the earth with their corpses. Wet the fields with their blood.

If Israel were only dealing with Fatah and other pragmatic-minded organizations, we wouldn't have fools like Benjamin Netanyahu.

They will just grow back, Hamas will die naturally and completely when gaza is not oppressed.

Killing the lukud... how do we do that, could we get them all in one stadium and blow them up or something, I got to admit I'm tempted but like hamas I figure killing them will just cause even more Zionist Israelis to take power.
