In some other forums I have frequented, similar to sciforums, I have seen a "Search Thread" option which allows you to search the current thread in case you are looking for some earlier post. This is very useful in long posts which go beyond 100 pages.

Could we have such an option in sciforums?

Isn't something like that available in the Advanced Search option?

I was referring to the "Thread Tools"

How would you search through a single thread in advanced search?

You are already adept enough at prowling our boards. :xctd: I want so much to tell you, but then we have to close/delete the thread, and then you must go and see Trippy, to have this whole experience erased.

    Let's just savor the now.

Truth is I think we have to ask for something like:

Its a major hindrance when searching through old threads because

    1. The search engine does not accept three letter words
    2. The search engine filters common words and ignores them
    3. The search engine will return all posts or all threads which contain the keywords, so I may have to go more than 10 pages to find the post in the particular thread.
    4. Archived threads are not searched.

Well in the advanced search under "Search this Thread", you can type in keywords and/or the User Name.

Or you can use the advanced search option that covers the whole forum and narrow it down to the particular thread...

I can't see a "Search this thread" option. Where is it?

Hey I just saw it next to Thread tools, where did it come from?

That's like the time I discovered that the Edit Button appears in other people's posts right where the Quote button normally resides (if one isn't empowered as a mod). As an inobservant result, I completely cut hammered and processed a few victim's posts, thinking I was replying. Then twice in a panic

I'm a posting imposter! I deleted the invaded posts. Irrevocably. Which didn't help. So don't feel bad.

May we please have a taze button too? Well, just one right below your avatar is enough for me.

I'd like a button that I can press under someone's name and each time they'd log onto the site, the words "You're a poster child for birth control" would keep flashing on their screen after they are banned for acting like an idiot from this site..
