ook, now i'm really confused, did atlantis existed, did any other ancient advanced civlisation existed before, at leats advanced like we were in the 60s or something? were they very very rich, and had hight buildings and temples just like in myths, (myths can be kinda true, not all parts of it, but it is usually gotten from another real story or facts), was really ancient technology in any way? i mean, they found tools, some of them stone disks, with a very very small writings on it, also other spherel, completly spheral rocks, also very old dated about 70 000 years ago i think, also they found some kind of a machine that it's like the "Esterlab" (esterlab: wich it's inventer was Meriem Al Esterlabi) it had the same functions as the Esterlab, like navigating, and stars movements, etc... now, i'm really really confused, could it be there a lost history, when humans had actually some advancements in some domains, i mean even today, we still don't know some things on how they build the pyramids of other monuments, but we do have theories, could they had tools? in egypte, almost everything is lost exept the pyramids, so, isnt there a chance that everything else from tools and shops are destroyed, or burried under alott of sand, then for example the city of cairo is built on it?

You are referring to the Antikythera device? These were more advanced than we have generally recognized as being common to that era, but they were fairly common to the Greeks.

Also, the region is volcanically active, and dramatic changes in land elevation have been known to occur from time to time.

So, Atlantis was probably based on a real place, but it was probably just a typical civilization of the time.

    No.

    Almost certainly not.

It depends what you mean by "technology". Bearing in mind that plumbing, bridge-building and house construction are all technologies.

Do you mean astrolabe? That's usually credited to Hipparchus.

    .

i didnt mean the atikythera, but, it's one similar to it, it look like a ball, found on a ship under the atlantic ocean, i forgot where i readed it,

so, atlantis did really exist, and it was like greek, and not that advanced, so, no high buildings? no ship canals? no fountains and underground pipes? (of water and waste)?

not technology as ours, but, an advanced technology for that age, maybe some kind of motors or simple cars like the first cars, but on water vapor, instead of oil
no not actually, i saw it from it here, also from my scholl history book
    www.1001inventions.com

keep entering again and again, intell you find, those caracters of the past, scientits and inventers drawed pictures, on the down of the page, each time you enter the site you find a new drawed picture of an inventer and he's inventions, also i saw it in the 1001inventions 15 min film.

ah yeah yeah, that's it in the link, but it wasn't only on kind of esterlab, there was the greek, the persian, the medival islamic civilisation, and the french,

No: re-read spidergoat's answer. Atlantis didn't exist but the story of Atlantis was probably based on somewhere that did exist.

High buildings are a relatively modern invention (for purposes of cramming people into small spaces of land: not much need back then).
Canals - what makes you think they weren't possible?
    Wiki.
    Fountains - likewise.
    Wiki.
    And plumbing.
    Wiki.
And note that date is for standardised plumbing - in other words it's highly likely that plumbing was used for a long before that date.

Personally I think Atlantis if it existed cold have been either right next to Crete in Mediterranean sea or it was next to present day Morocco in the Atlantic Ocean, Madeira Plain

Maybe you should learn to read more closely:
    http://www.1001inventions.com/node/32

Even that site credits it to Hipparchus.

    .

well possible, but i think it's more near the phenicians (near palastine, syria, greece) that area of the medetirrenean sea, they found old phenicians-like buildings underwater in that area, maybe the called atlantis did was phenician, (just like carthage, you know it? it was also very rich and advanced in it's time, also it was like a highway rest station)

I am sure I read somewhere That they are finding sunken cities, weather any of them are remenents of atlantis?

Not sure, we know the cities are there, but we can't get to them. Again I am not sure there part of atlantis.

    Did it?
Which real facts did the myth of Zeus come from?
Which real facts did the myth of Medusa come from?

... all depends on what you would have us believe

Not really: I'm asking which facts Medusa etc. is based, not beliefs.

    great

so lets here how you propose that one can bring the term "fact" to the discussion

Like the facts according to anthropologists?
    to linguists?
    to geologists?

(because frequently the facts proposed by such parties don't correlate)

Keep trying: it was Shadow1's contention that facts were the basis for Atlantis.
I could ask which facts were responsible for Middle Earth, or Oz...

    So what?
I asked what facts are responsible for the myth of Medusa et al.
    Any facts at all.

so once again, it comes down to who you would have us believe ... I mean if you are labeling it as a myth, you've already come down to a decision on the facts about it

Either you don't read very well or you're being deliberately obtuse.
How do you conclude that I've already come down to a decision when I keep asking "what facts"?
I'll try again, and please read slower this time.
What facts are behind the myths of Medusa etc.?

This isn't about whether Medusa is a myth or not, it's generally accepted as such, (although I'd love to see evidence that it isn't) but a challenge to Shadow1's contention that there must be facts behind a myth.
