You offended me about that probably about 6 months ago. The group was established like 1 month ago, and you are the one who sent an invitation to my inbox. :shrug: I have to say in the beginning I feel honored. The reason I left is as I have written in the screenshot of the PM and in the above post: I don't want to be a tool, I fear you'd post "official statements" on behalf of the group without my consent again (whether I agree or disagree with the statement), especially if it is against administrator. It. Is. As. Simple. As. That.

It was and still is, but Kira matters very little. Kira made another post in this thread about wanting to start over with me, which has been conveniently deleted by him or herself or somebody else. This has been an interesting exercise in human behavior. Most of the people who voiced discontent did so literally DAYS after reading my initial post, which means that they were perfectly okay with and even supportive of its existence and its contents... at first. It were only until one or two people left and some pressure was put on from the outside that they too decided that "they didn't like this" and left us. Just look at Kira, whose ultimate statement boils down to: "I agree with the High Society statement... but I'm leaving now because I am concerned with my reputation."

Fair-weather friends was all they were. Apparently some of them forgot along the way that this group was supposed to be deliberately over the top, as cluless has repeatedly stated. Clearly those people still feel bitter, which is why they have been the main one-lining anklebiters (see above two posts) and biggest detractors so far. As for the rest of us, we're doing awesome.

You are an "interesting exercise in human behavior", Will. In all sincerity, I am following the progress of your "reform" or "high society" group with great interest. I find it fascinating to watch people desert as the true agenda surfaces, and would dearly like to know the depths to which said agenda extends.

I am being honest about this, both from assessing the viewpoint(s) of your detractors as well as your supporters. [to the best of my ability] It seems almost analogous to watching a new political party form... then dissipate... or not?

In any event, not that you are one to ever seek, need or accept advice, you might want to reign in the somewhat draconian policies that appear to govern your group. Sometimes the one who appears to be "silent", yet whispers in the king's ear has more influence than the most outspoken, eloquent and flamboyant member of the court.

Well, I'm not sure if you're including me in this generalisation, but I'll have to say that this wasn't the case for me. I drop by every now and then, and when I drop by then I'm certainly not going to chew on the never-ending topic about S.A.M. being treated unfairly by JamesR. So when I received your PM I didn't hop right into the thread you linked me to, because
a) I didn't really have the time nor the will to read through the whole thread to see what the Hell the issue was about, and what I was supposed to agree with. And when I read in your PM that it had something to do with the JamesR VS S.A.M. issue again..I just moved on without checking it out any further.

b) in the PM you sent me there was no hint that you actually posted on our/my behalf. You said that YOU'VE issued a statement, which means to me as much as you've voiced your own personal opinion, and nothing more, and that's why I've only checked the situation out just recently. If I would have known that you posted on behalf of other group members without asking for their consent first just to further your own agenda then I would have posted my opinion earlier. If I would have known that being in that group means that you'll abuse my membership in favours of whatever you have to say on the main board without consulting me first then I wouldn't have joined the group in the first place.

And seriously, I don't particularly give a fuck about the moderation on here because I've never had any noteworthy issues with the staff on here, and from what I've seen most mods are way tooooooooooooo laid back when modding. The ban-hammer should fly more often, in my opinion. What I find most astounding about the staff on here is..that most of them actually give a fuck about the community, and the users' opinions. I've never seen admins and mods caring SO MUCH for what the users have to say, so I don't really get why there are some who spend so much time whinging about the moderation on here. Sure, there are inconsistencies sometimes, or it happens that someone isn't being treated 100% fairly, but that happens everywhere. We're not some emotionless robots who handle things always the same way, we're humans..and we all make mistakes. Pointing out that someone made a mistake, or maybe handled a situation not all too well is fine, but uttering the same wishy washy blah blah even months, or years after the incident has been discussed out..now that's just worth a big 'What the fuck'.

And fuck no, just because I posted my disagreement with what you've said just recently, doesn't mean that I ever agreed with what you've posted on my behalf.

Look, Will, I don't come to science forum to get stress and shorten my life span, ja? ~_~ I have written down why I left your group, and in the beginning I didn't want to make a big hassle about it, but as I read the conversation over here more and more, I can't stand the dishonest communication (or perhaps just misunderstanding) among you, that's why I stand up to clarify what I know. How is this difficult for you to acknowledge that "yes, the official statement wasn't on behalf of the group or the majority decision in the first place, I apologize to all members whom I didn't ask for consent prior to posting the official statement on behalf of them, it'll never happened again" or something like that...

If that was the case, all of this thing didn't have to happen. Even Fraggle Rocker or James R acknowledged their mistakes and apologized when they need to do so. I mean, they are figures of authority, and being honest and acknowledging mistake didn't make them look down, they gain my full respect.

If you are going to continue about this (particularly involving me), let's take it up to PM. Please write down all your disappointment about me, we'll discuss about that thoroughly once and for all. If we can't settle whatever issue you have with me conclusively, we can always put each other on ignore. Therefore, we don't have to waste each other's time anymore. Feel free to write the last word in this thread, I am done over here, only will respond to PM. I sincerely hope, though, that we can start over new like with all other people.
